Reaction to Donald Sterling's Ban for Life from the NBA

The reaction to LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling's lifetime ban from the NBA was swift. NAB Commissioner Adam Silver, left, made the announcement earlier today during a live press conference.

In audio obtained by gossip tabloid TMZ.com, Sterling told his biracial girlfriend, Vanessa Stiviano, not to bring black men to his games -- including NBA legend Magic Johnson, with whom Stiviano had posed for an Instagram photo.

NBA stars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and former great Magic Johnson posted their sentiments on their official Twitter accounts in the moments after the announcement.

LeBron thanked Silver for "protecting our beautiful and powerful league."

And Johnson tweeted, "Commissioner Silver showed great leadership in banning LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life."

SOme NBA players say they are not completely satisfied with the league's decision. They want the NBA board of governors to hold "an immediate vote" forcing Sterling to sell the Clippers team.

But a friend who spoke with Sterling today said he did not express a desire to sell the team at this time.

Beyonce and Jay Z

Blogger Seth Adam Smith, a married man, wrote a blog post about overcoming his own selfishness on his way down the aisle with the Love of his life, Kim. Seth describes a conversation he had with his wise dad who told him point blank that marriage is not for men -- though not in those exact words.

His dad's exact words were:

Marriage isn’t for you. You don’t marry to make yourself happy, you marry to make someone else happy. More than that, your marriage isn’t for yourself, you’re marrying for a family. Not just for the in-laws and all of that nonsense, but for your future children. Who do you want to help you raise them? Who do you want to influence them? Marriage isn’t for you. It’s not about you. Marriage is about the person you married.”

Seth's blog post has caught fire all over the Internet, on social media websites and message boards. It's as if Seth's message of self-sacrifice and consideration for others is a new concept in human behavior.

Personally, I think Seth cheated on Kim, and that's what brought about his great metamorphosis. Seth and Kim are high school sweethearts who met when they were 15. It's likely that Kim knows Seth is a dog -- but she married him anyway, because dogs need Love too.

Keri Hilson new hairstyle

Keri Hilson tweet

Lately, celebrities have begun leaving messages for me in my Direct Message inbox on Twitter.com. Normally I don't share my DMs with the public, but in this case I will because singer Keri Hilson thinks she's slick.

Yesterday morning Keri tweeted this on her Twitter timeline: "It's nice when your hard work affords you the luxury of doing whatever you want, whenever you want. That's the goal, right?"

I responded by tweeting: "Wrong. The goal is to enrich the lives of others, not your own."
