Dylann Roof, the white man charged with massacring 9 black church members in Charleston, was beaten by another inmate in jail on Thursday.

Roof, 22, is housed in solitary confinement for his own protection at the Charleston County Detention Center awaiting trial. The beating took place while Roof was showering alone at 7:45 a.m.

According to the NY Daily News, the FBI is among several federal agencies investigating the officers for conducting a road side cavity search on Elijah Pontoon, 40.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into the viral videos showing a South Carolina high school resource officer assaulting a black teenage girl.

The videos show Officer Ben Fields, 34, putting a a 16-year-old female student in a chokehold and flipping her chair. He then dragged her across the floor caveman style before throwing her against a wall. The unidentified girl was not injured.

A Spring Valley High School resource officer was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into a use of force incident against a student.

The incident, which occurred Monday, involved a female student who was reportedly disruptive in class at the Columbia, S.C. high school. The officer, identified as Ben Fields, ordered the student to stand up and leave the room.

The suspect who slaughtered 9 members of a Bible study group in Charleston, S.C. has been arrested.

Police say Dylann Storm Roof, 21, of Columbia, S.C. was arrested in Shelby, N.C.

Roof entered the historic black church in Charleston, S.C. around 8 p.m. Wednesday night. Survivors of the massacre say Roof sat in the pews praying with about 12 members of the church for an hour before opening fire.

A massive manhunt is underway for a crazed gunman who shot and killed 9 people as they prayed inside a historic black Charleston, S.C. church. Six females and 3 males were killed in the massacre on Wednesday night. The gunman reportedly allowed survivors to leave the church so they could tell people what he had done.

The FBI and local authorities are calling the shooting a hate crime.

A South Carolina state trooper was arrested and charged with shooting an unarmed driver for not wearing his seat belt.

Groubert pulled over Levar Jones, 35, in a Columbia, SC gas station after he observed Jones not wearing his seat belt on Sept. 4. The patrol unit's dash cam filmed what happened next.
