St Louis Rams

The St. Louis players who came out onto the field with their hands up prior to the Rams vs Oakland NFL game will not be punished by the NFL.

Five Rams players raised their hands in protest as they emerged onto the field during pre-game introductions on Sunday. The protest was in response to a Missouri grand jury decision not to indict a former Ferguson cop on murder charges in the shooting death of Michael brown.

Michael Sam

Michael Sam will probably never play another down in the NFL -- and he has no one to blame but himself.

Sam, a 24-year-old SEC Defensive Player of the year out of Missouri, announced his homosexuality in February, leading many to believe it was a calculated attempt on his part to boost his chances at the NFL draft in May. Being an SEC standout was no guarantee that Sam would be drafted at all. Even more suspect was the fact that Sam apparently inked a deal with Oprah OWN Network to film a reality TV series before he was even drafted. Then there was the wedding cake incident when Sam tongue kissed his feminine boyfriend on national TV on draft day. ESPN's cameras were there to film the 7th round draft pick licking icing off his boyfriend's face.

Michael Sam kiss

Yesterday was the end of the road for many unlucky NFL rookies who were cut from their NFL team's roster. Odell Beckham Jr

When the St. Louis Rams selected gay football player Michael Sam as the 249th overall pick in the NFL draft, some of us chuckled because we knew that several gay players were already chosen ahead of him.

The other gay players chose not to come out as openly gay out of fear that their sexual preferences might affect their draft status. Sam was hailed as a "hero," but he has since been exposed as an opportunist who came out for financial gain. There is no doubt that Sam's sexual preferences for men affected his draft status.

Sources claim NY Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr (pictured above) was so worried about rumors of his sexual preference affecting his draft status that he, or someone in his camp, created an elaborate Manti Te'o-style hoax to deflect such rumors.

Michael Sam and Vito Cammissano

Grown men recoiled at the sight of St. Louis draftee Michael Sam licking cake icing off the lips of his boyfriend, Vito Cammissano. Only seconds before "the kiss", these same men cheered St. Louis for having the courage to draft Sam with its 249th pick in the NFL draft on Saturday. 31 other teams had bypassed the SEC Defensive Player of the Year who was projected as a mid- to late round draft pick.

ESPN taped Sam's reaction and aired the tape immediately after his draft pick was announced. Social media's reaction to "the kiss" was wildly mixed. Some applauded the NFL, St. Louis and Sam for their courage. While others -- including professional and college football players -- expressed their distaste with ESPN for repeatedly showing "the kiss" on air. Many believed ESPN went too far.
