Tristan Thompson (left) was ejected from the Cleveland Cavaliers' game against the Memphis Grizzlies for trying to slap Memphis star Jae Crowder on the butt.

There was a time when the butt slap in sports was an expected part of the game. Players slapped each other on the butt as a way of saying "good job" or to motivate their teammates.

But with the increased focus on homosexuality and transgenderism in the media, the butt slap gesture has fallen out of favor with many macho players.

WENN.com reports the incident happened after Cavaliers star Thompson made his first of two free throws during the game on Friday, Jan. 17.

Crowder was walking near the free-throw line to leave the game when Khloe Kardashian's ex reached to give him a pat on the backside - which Crowder immediately rejected by slapping Thompson's hand away.

While the referee closest to the action let the gesture slide, another ref blew his whistle and gave Thompson his second technical foul of the game, which resulted in an automatic ejection.

Explaining the incident after the match, the part-time reality TV star commented:

"They might have taken it the wrong way probably because they forgot that, I don't know, we were teammates for half the year, so it feels like playing anyone else, like if I was playing Kyrie (Irving) or something. The same thing. They teched us. I'm definitely calling the PA (Players Association) to appeal that - one thousand per cent."

Thompson and Crowder were previously Cavaliers teammates from 2017 to 2018.

The Memphis Grizzlies won the game 113-109.

In a similar incident, NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. was nearly arrested when he got carried away and slapped a cop on his butt during a post-college national title celebration in the LSU locker room

A warrant was issued for the wide receiver's arrest but the warrant was later dropped when the cop withdrew his complaint.

Khloe Kardashian was surprised to receive a diamond necklace and promise ring from ex-fiancé Tristan Thompson during Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The 35-year-old reality star ended her relationship with the Cleveland Cavaliers star Tristan after discovering he'd cheated on her with former family friend Jordyn Woods.

But the pair have been working to keep their relationship on good terms for the sake of their daughter, 19-month-old True Thompson, who needs her father in her life full-time.

Tristan seems confident of a reunion, and he recruited Khloe's Black friends Khadijah and Malika Haqq to help him deliver the diamond necklace and buy his way back into Khloe's heart.

"Tristan reached out to see if we would help him get Khloe this gift," the sisters explained in a confessional interview. "Of course we said yes!"

While Khloe clearly liked the gift, she was apparently uncomfortable with accepting the gifts and what that would mean for her and her daughter.

"I am conflicted as to if I should keep it or not, because I just want to make sure there's no expectations," she explained. "It's the sweetest kindest gesture, but that still doesn't mean, 'OK, a necklace is just gonna fix everything'."

There have been other signs that Tristan is breaking down her resistance. The day before Khloe's 35th birthday he gave her a stunning pink diamond ring, and the star revealed to sister Kourtney's ex Scott Disick how Tristan presented it to her.

"He goes, 'This is a promise ring,' and I go, 'Promise to be nice to me as True's mom.' I was like, 'I really appreciate it. I don't think I can accept it.' He goes, 'Just think about it. It's yours.'"

"It looks fully like an engagement ring," Scott said, examining the jewelry, as Khloe explained he also gave her a hand-written card expressing his appreciation for her.

"It was the nicest, longest card and it was in his bad handwriting, which is what I wanted," Khloe explained. "Something tangible that I can keep."

Khloe Kardashian admits it's nearly impossible to co-parent daughter True Thompson with her ex-fiancé Tristan Thompson.

Khloe admitted it's a constant struggle to remain cordial with Tristan for the sake of her little girl.

The 35-year-old reality TV star began dating the 28-year-old NBA star in 2016, after moving her things out of the bedrooms of NBA star James Harden and rapper French Montana (not in that order).

The socialite ended her relationship with Tristan after she discovered bloggers were right about his cheating ways and his insatiable appetite for strippers.

The last straw was when he cheated on Khloe with former family personal assistant Jordyn Woods.

During an interview on Jay Shetty's "On Purpose" podcast, Khloe revealed it's "not easy" to be on friendly terms with Tristan.

"Oh, it's hard. It's not easy for me. You know, it would be easier for me to keep my daughter away... but he never hurt True," Khloe explained. "Him and I have our own relationship and then Tristan and True have theirs, and I will never come in between that. I don't believe in that."

Khloe looks to her sister Kourtney (pictured with son Mason) and Kourtney's ex Scott Disick for inspiration when it comes to co-parenting their children.

"I want to show my daughter it's OK and it's a beautiful thing to also forgive her dad," Khloe continued. "He's a great person. Maybe him and I weren't compatible in that way, but that's OK. I always want True to be surrounded by love and I know babies feel energy, we feel energy and I just want her to always feel bliss as much as I can."

The single mom revealed she's not ready to throw herself back onto the dating scene just yet.

"I haven't jumped into dating. I don't care to date right now," she insisted. "I'm not in a rush for it. I feel so good in my life and I don't really need much else. So, something that I'm focusing on is just making sure that I process everything."

Khloe Kardashian played dumb on Monday when fans asked her why her baby daddy Tristan Thompson's face was blurred in the recent episode of her family's reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
