Friend of the blog, rapper Young Jeezy was wrongly arrested and charged with illegal possession of an AK-47 assault rifle. The 36-year-old rapper and 5 members of his entourage were thrown in jail after no one claimed ownership of the weapon.
Police seized the weapon in a search of Jeezy’s custom tour bus on Aug. 24 in Irvine, CA.. as part of an investigation into the shooting death of a nightclub promoter in Mountain View, CA.
After posting $1 million cash bond for himself and his entourage, Jeezy is free to move about the country and promote his album, Seen It All. Now a source has come forward to explain just who that weapon was registered to.
Rapper Young Jeezy brought out Future, Akon, Remy Ma, Bobby Shmurda and more to perform during his Seen It All album release party at Stage 48 in the Hell’s Kitchen area of NYC last night.
Before arriving in NYC, Jeezy donated $1 million to the Jay Morrison Academy for scholarships in Atlanta on Tuesday. Jeezy is about that education! He knows that young black men won’t go far in life without knowledge. Jeezy also dropped $1 million to bail himself out of a California prison where he was wrongly booked for illegal weapon possession last week.
Rapper Young Jeezy was released from a California jail just in time to attend a meet & greet with Power 105.1 Breakfast Club hosted by Street 94.5 radio in Atlanta on Tuesday. Jeezy pled not guilty to charge of possessing an illegal assault rifle last week. Radio listeners were invited to meet Jeezy, who is pictured above with the Breakfast Club hosts Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy. Other invited guests included DJ Don Cannon, blogger Karen Civil, and Solomon, former manager of Sean Combs‘ now shuttered Justin’s Restaurant.

Rap mogul Young Jeezy is a free man after posting 10% of his $1 million bond yesterday, MTV News reports.
Jeezy, 36, was among 6 people taken into custody on Sunday in Irvine, CA. when police found an AK-47 and another firearm during a search of Jeezy’s custom tour bus outside the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.
A San Antonio TV station tweeted the wrong photo of rapper Young Jeezy who is being held on a $1 million cash bond following his arrest on a weapon charge in California.
KSAT-TV, which lacks basic knowledge of the hip hop culture, tweeted: “‘Young Jeezy’ arrested after Wiz Khalifa concert shooting.” The tweet included a photo of Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman, and was shared over 3,000 times on Twitter.com before KSAT deleted the tweet without explanation.
