New Music: Solange – F*ck the Industry

A new track by Solange is stirring controversy within the music industry. In the song posted on her new blog, Solange gives her industry haters a big, “F*ck you!”

Now I recall Solange recording a similar song telling her haters to eat a fat one – but maybe that was her sister Beyonce.

The song uses the track from Kanye’s “Everything I Am” as inspiration to tell her story:

Solange cautions that the song is in no way a diss track aimed at any specific individual or artist within the industry. But she does name her sister Bey, Ashanti and Keyshia Cole in the song. Solange makes it clear that she intends to blaze her own trail whether the industry like sit or not.

“I feel that many people can relate to this song outside of the industry and that’s why I want to share,” writes Solange. This is the first song off the mixtape series coming out soon named “I Can’t Get Clearance…”

I’m feeling Solange too, but like Smokie said, I hope it’s not some manufactured image, kinda like they did with Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson in the beginning of Ashlee Simpsons career (hanging my head in shame for just admitting out loud that I USED to watch Ashlee Simpson’s show. What the hell is going on man? I warned yall about defectors/cliques that form on blogs who leave to start their own blog and take the clique with them AND start bad mouthing the blog they met on. I can’t believe it has happend here. We don’t fight each other on Sandra Rose. Don’t feed into this mess. Please stop fighting one another. It’s not that damn serious. Interestingly enough on the 2 and now 3 blogs that I have experienced a defection it’s always the smart people that I respect who leave and come back to the old blog for the sole purpose of starting arguments. Can one of you explain to me why someone would feel compelled to do that? Please.

and i think its natural for people to be more closer …even e-closer (lol) when they share the same views… yea, so what if a clique is formed…some people easily bond with others and that okay. And so what if they throw in a few jokes in between posts (like the kona) to keep it funny. Hell we only get like 5-8 posts on here a day… there is only so much you can say about the same people over and over.

I take your word for it. No need to go searching for comments. I know I discussed cliques in the past I just didn’t know I said a clique was forming here. If I noticed that at one point I stopped noticing possible becuase I skip over the corner comments. Is it the corner folks who left? They were my peoples. I hope they come back to comment rather than fight, but experience tells me that is unlikely to happen.

@ Bird, I think some irritation had been building, but I think we’ve gotten it all out now. I think we handled it pretty well because EVERYONE on here really IS grown. And yes, Carmen you are right — cliques might happen, and it’s good that you guys have your forum to turn to when you want to go waaaaay off topic, but that does not mean you should ditch THIS blog altogether. People on this site have always complained about that because it so rarely happens here. This is a small community so the chances of being first here is much better than on sites that let anyone comment. Personally I would prefer that a trend not form because you know it people will be calling first, second, third, forth, etc, but it’s not really an issue here so I got over it. Some people clearly have not.

The people who talk about the corner do make intelligent and sometimes funny comments on the topic. I read those comments. I just skip the corner comments because it got a little stale after a while. We all disagree with Sandra most of the time so everyone can be sent to the corner.

YES, “First” does get on my nerves. Absolutley. And I surely don’t want this site to turn into mediatakeout.com. But, I wasn’t in fear of this site turning into 50 posts of “First” before the actual real first comment b/c I know that Sandra will stop that before it gets out of hand. I checked out PYT’s blog community and it is really cool. The format is great for people who want to talk about whatever. I don’t think it’s anything against Sandra so I’m not going to look at this as a defection despite this extremely petty argument that is going on and being instigated by a handful of people. I won’t “infiltrate” their community because based on the comments I read everyone is not welcome, but I do like it. I guess toosexy saying 1st just got people going. I know PYT didn’t mean for that to happen.

A former coworker of mine had a similar situation and her solution was to take her lunch break at 3:00 so she could go pick up her daughter and she did that for the whole 3 years I worked with her.

Please forgive me for butting in. Like I said, I really like the format so it’s likely that I will be checking it out. I just wanted to throw in a potential solution that no one else mentioned.

wow…to explain the corner..someone said it best. it was based upon you leaving a crazy comment on the site. we placed you in the corner becasue if you’ve been on here long enough to know…if you say anything too out the way..sandra will give you a one-way ticket out of here. so, before people would get out of hand we would send them to, as you guys say (the invisible) corner to shut them up!! it was all out of fun.

As I sit here in awe reading all this mess. I am truly sadden that all this mess is taking place.

Now with that being said… I have never once said I wanted to start a site to be beefing in between thse 2 sites!!!! So dont so that!

My only purpose of starting a message board was to get us talking about other things when auntie sandra leaves for the day and we are still logged on!!!
