R&B singer Sammie accepted rapper Soulja Boy’s $50,000 Madden ’09 challenge. The two met up in an Atlanta recording studio yesterday to lay down tracks for Sammie’s upcoming album.

Sammie, who’s flush with cash from royalties and shows, said it’s nothing for him to put up 50 stacks to prove who’s King of the South in Madden ’09.
According to Sammie, Bow Wow still hasn’t ante’d up the $100,000 he lost to rapper The Game in a recent Madden ’09 challenge.
In the video, Sammie says if he wins Soulja Boy’s $50,000, he’s taking the whole Empire Entertainment crew to Neiman Marcus at Lenox Square Mall.
So I talked to his management to see if that was true and they told me the money will go to Sammie’s Kids, a non-profit foundation set up by Sammie and Empire Ent. to pay inner city school kids for bringing home good grades.

Now to sammie, he had a minor hit how many years ago, he aint got 50 dollars let alone 50k and who is checking for him or is going to buy his album, he is about as relevant as S Club 7 and NSYNC.
ANd of course Bow WoW didnt pony up the cash, he isnt as rich as he likes to play himself as either, people really need to get hip to the record industry it takes endorsements, movies, music, concerts, merchandise to be as rich as janet, michael, madonna. Not a #7 song on the R&B chart……..

NO … and just because an artist doesn’t have a #1 doesn’tmean that they have not reaped the benefits of a released record.
Publishing, writing, production etc. are all ways in which $ is generated.
I could care less about who has more cash out of these two, either way the $ is supposed to go to the Charity.
On Bow Wow – do we know for sure that the $ hasn’t gone to the charity of choice???

the first statement (neiman marcus) is more appropriate and fits these type antics. donating the money if he wins doesn’t even sound right; it’s ironic to the sitcheation…of course he’s gonna blow the money….

have you not heard of matthew knowles, or do you honestly believe beyonce writes all the songs she sings? it’s managers like him who help gank artists out they money and take songs from writers.
i wasn’t gonna say, but it’s stupid. surely they can spend the money on something worth while, but again (if they have it to waste), it’s their money–have at it. I just dont get where it’s coming from.

It would be inaccurate to say that Bey has written all her songs, she hasn’t- doesn’t take away that she is a great artist w/ a keen business sense.

i cosign with @16 about an education. case in point… this weekend my daughter and one of her aces were at the house working on a big report they have due…. neither could navigate word. now i know everybody is NOT computer literate…HOWEVER i expect if anyone is it should be them. that is all their generation has known..so how the hail you NOT gonna know how to change your font, indent, double space, etc?
but let them little heffas on myspace somewhere or upload some pictures or surf to see if the lil wayne concert is cancelled. they can do that but can’t figure out how to type their report….
i was so dayum pissed i signed her up for a 2 day “word for dummies” class…
