He’s definitely NOT closeted… but the subject did come up, and his very simple response was that he feels it doesn’t have anything to do with work, so he just doesn’t bring his personal life? to the forefront during such. Makes sense, and that’s his choice to make. But that mean he’s closeted? No, it just means his personal life has nothing to do with his work so he shuts up about, there are alot of straight men who dont talk about their personal life either, so stop naggin gay men to come out. You need to sit yo Ass down woman.

Cooper frequently mentions the suicide rate of depressed gay teens on his program AC360. Imagine how his coming out would inspire and motivate those teens.

I think the letter was a bit harsh, but I agree with the fact that all gay folks don’t need to broadcast their lifestyles in their line of work…so I appreciate that…but to play devil’s advocate he DOES cover a lot of stories about teens committing suicide due to their sexual orientation. But, I think he’s just taking himself out of the equation to keep the news fair and balanced… he probably doesn’t want folks pigeon holing his stories based on his personal life

I actually think it was unnecessary for Don Lemon to come out (we all kinda knew it). I think Don Lemon’s coming out was more therapeutic for him because he had been abused and maybe his sexual orientation had a link to his hurtful past. Anderson likely doesn’t have a traumatizing situation that molded or impacted his lifestyle.

I love the letter for two reasons… For one, I agree with pretty much everyone’s comment in that coming OUT is a personal choice. It’s a choice for Mr. Cooper and no one else. How much better life will be for the gays if he comes OUT is irrelevant if he doesn’t see himself in that role. I say leave it alone. Secondly, I think the letter is a reminder to Sandy just how influential her blog is and the masses of people who reads it. If Sandy was inconsequential in this media circus there would be no need to address, but this letter was address to Sandy. I see it as a call to take your role a blogger more seriously because you do have an impact – undeniably! This is not to say that you have to change your mean-spirited ways because I truly believe that’s apart of your charm, but I think you’re being challenge to develop some integrity in how you go about what you do.

Yeah I know…. But my thing is was it the friends place to give any information if Anderson Cooper didn’t divulge information about his partner. In that respect the “friend” isn’t any better than Sandra. In my point of view the friend gave TMI about Anderson’s mate and life. If Cooper kept it from the public’s eye what right did the friend have to open the gate about hanging out with him and his mate. Really friends and family are privy to this information. According to everyone the reason Anderson didn’t say anything because it had nothing to do with his career. What give the friend the right to publicly speak about his friends lifestyle on Anderson’s behalve. Makes plenty of sense to me too.
