Socialite Kim Kardashian, left, and pregnant pop star Ciara were seen exiting Bel Bambini restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Kim and Ciara filmed a scene for an upcoming episode of Kardashian's low-rated family reality series. Kim wore a curve fitting black leather skirt and a white sleeveless top with black leather boots. Ciara, who is 8 months pregnant, was dressed in a white maternity frock and brown gladiator sandals. Sources say Ciara seemed anxious during the filming. She will reportedly discuss pregnancy issues with Kim, who suffered from the potentially fatal pregnancy disorder pre-eclampsia while pregnant with her and Kanye West's now 8-month-old daughter, North West.
Kardashian's doctor induced delivery of Kim's daughter on June 15, 2013. Doctors feared the 33-year-old reality TV star was showing signs and symptoms of pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia is diagnosed when the pregnant woman experiences high blood pressure, headaches, and high protein spilled in her urine after the 20th week (late 2nd or 3rd trimester). The condition can cause sudden weight gain of more than 2 pounds a week; swelling of hands, feet, face, and eyes; persistent headaches, visual disturbances, unusual vaginal bleeding, right side abdominal pain that radiates to shoulder, and decreased urination. Please note that some swelling is normal during pregnancy.
Pre-eclampsia can progress to Eclampsia -- a life threatening condition. Risk factors include first time pregnancy, multiple pregnancies (twins or triplets); age 35 or older, history of diabetes, high blood pressure, or kidney disease. The only known cure is to induce early labor (or abort the baby) to remove the placenta.
