I was planning to enjoy one more glorious day off before getting back to the grind. But I had to write this post to show you how a misguided, materialistic single mom is raising her twin sons to be narcissists.

While other blogs (not surprisingly run by women) ooh and ahh over these photos of stylish twins “M” and “D” — we should take care to remember that their childhoods have been hijacked by an attention-seeking mom who is attempting to recreate her ideal man in her toddler sons.

“M” and “D” should be outdoors enjoying their childhoods with other children their ages. Instead, their mother dresses them up in expensive name brand clothing and posts their photos on Instagram to draw “likes”.

This photo shows the twins boys with their mom, a typical materialistic woman with yards of hair weave and no man in sight.

The children are being taught that image and good looks are everything. They already have attitudes to rival that of Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs.

In my Medical Minute post: Are You Raising a Narcissistic Child, I wrote: “Any culture that is obsessed with beauty and image breeds narcissism.”

Studies show that the sharp rise in narcissists in today’s society is directly linked to the explosion in social media. Instagram is a narcissist’s playground where the self-obsessed upload their photos to encourage ‘likes’.

In a blog on Huffingtonpost.com, sports psychology consultant Nicole Forester referred to social media as an “Epidemic of narcissism”.

She wrote:
“We are each hard-wired with the desire to feel relevant. Everyone wants to feel like they matter and are important. Social media provides this outlet, but also promotes being self-absorbed.”
