A suspect who stole $500,000 worth of jewelry from Allen Iverson's backpack at a Philadelphia hotel has surrendered to police.
The incident happened on Monday around 10:30 a.m. at the Sofitel Hotel located on S. 17th Street, WPVI reported.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect enter the hotel lobby and snatch Iverson's backpack containing $500,000 worth of the former NBA star's jewelry. Iverson, 44, was not present at the time the jewelry was stolen.
FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser reports that the 21-year-old college student turned himself in after his photo was aired on news stations and went viral on social media on Monday.
Police did not release the suspect's name nor did they say whether all of the jewelry was recovered.
Iverson is known for his expensive custom jewelry collection.
The 11-time NBA All-Star was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the first overall pick in 1996. He played 10 seasons for the 76ers before being traded to the Denver Nuggets in 2006.
