Two teenage boys have been charged with the shooting death of a 16-year-old Bronx boy sitting in the back seat of a livery taxi cab last weekend.

Ramon Gil-Medrano, aka Rah Gzz, was shot multiple times in the head and upper torso as he sat in the back of a cab. The shooting occurred on East 178th Street And Valentine Avenue in the Tremont neighborhood at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 11.

Police arrested Mekhi Williams, 19, and an unnamed 15-year-old boy. Williams, who is believed to be a member of the Thirdside Gang, was picked up about 7:20 p.m. Saturday.

The 15-year-old was arrested at his home in Queens about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The NYPD released video of the shooting on Sunday. The video shows two people ride up on a scooter and open fire through the rear passenger window, striking the teenager. The cab driver was not hurt in the shooting.

The family learned about Gil-Medrano's murder from a friend who was on the phone with him when he was killed.

Gil-Medrano's mother told the NY Daily News her son was on his way to a friend's place to record music when he was killed.

Police say Gil-Medrano was a member of the street gang 800 YGz (Young Gunnerz), and his murder was in retaliation for the shooting death of 13-year-old Jaryan Elliot hours earlier.

Elliot was standing outside Angels Cafe in Belmont just after 3:15 p.m. when a shooter stepped out of a car and opened fire.

Cell phone video shot hours later shows Gil-Medrano's gang affiliates destroying Elliot's memorial. Gil-Medrano is seen taunting Elliot's gang affiliates, telling them to "pop out right now" and "come up here... Where you at?" (See video below)

Gil-Medrano and Elliot are among three teenagers shot in 5 days in what police are calling a "major gang war" in the Bronx.
