A Florida couple who chose to raise a baby who isn’t genetically theirs is asking for donations after reaching an agreement with the biological parents.
Tiffany Score and Steven Mills shared new photos of their baby girl, Shea, on a GoFundMe page requesting donations. The family shared new details about their lives through a statement released by Tiffany’s sister, Alexa.
On Monday, June 22, Alexa explained how Tiffany and Steven reached an agreement with the biological parents.
“The agreement came from a place of selfless love from all individuals, and I am so truly proud of everyone involved. Our family’s hearts are filled with relief and gratitude,” Alexa wrote on GoFundMe.
Alexa said that the couple is still attempting to find out what happened to their other three viable embryos. They may also implant their last remaining embryo.
“That process involves ongoing legal coordination, medical consultations, genetic testing, and the transport and testing of their last remaining supposed embryo – a procedure that is both complex and costly, with no guarantee of the outcome,” she said.
Alexa added: “Your support has allowed them to continue seeking those answers while keeping their focus where it belongs: on loving and raising their sweet girl, Shea. Every act of kindness has helped carry them through one of the most difficult chapters of their lives.”
She promised more updates “when the time is right.”
Tiffany delivered baby Shea via in vitro fertilization (IVF) in December 2025. She and Steven immediately realized their newborn was “non-Caucasian.”
A DNA test confirmed their suspicions. Baby Shea is 100% South Asian, according to their lawyer, Mara Hatfield.
The couple filed a lawsuit against the Orlando fertility clinic, IVF Life, Inc. At the time, Tiffany and Steven said they believed Shea should be reunited with her genetic parents.
In a court filing, attorney Hatfield wrote that her clients and Patient 004 had “come to a mutually devised custody agreement” that recognizes the couple’s rights as the “permanent custodial parents of their daughter.”
