Jay-Z let his insecurities show when he texted former Hot 97 radio host Ebro Darden to thank him for denying the lacefront wig rumors.
Ebro, 51, revealed he received a text message from the 56-year-old rapper in a podcast on Thursday – the 30th anniversary of Jay-Z’s seminal debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
“He texted me because he saw a clip of us talking about the hair convo, Ebro said, referring to an earlier episode of his podcast. “He was like, ‘Yo, man, I really appreciate that convo. That’s dope.'”
Ebro’s remarks went viral on a day when hip-hop fans should’ve been celebrating “Jay-Z Day” in NYC. The city wrapped an entire subway train in a Jay-Z promotion.
