Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will make their long-awaited return to London, England next month. Royal insiders say they are bringing the children – Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly struggling financially in President Trump’s economy. Sources say they plan to ask King Charles for money to finance their luxury lifestyle in America.
King Charles graciously offered to pay their security expenses during their visit. Royal experts told Page Six the 77-year-old King is “eager” to see his grandchildren for the first time in years.
“I am sure he will see the children,” said Hugo Vickers, royal biographer and friend of the family. “The king has always left the door wide open, and he did see Harry last September.”
“It’s a good idea that Harry should reconcile privately with his father, for both their sakes. The king made it clear that he didn’t want his last years to be miserable, and Harry is burdened with enough trauma that, if Charles died without them making peace, that would just cause him even more problems,” Vickers added.
Harry sued the British government over his security expenses in 2025. The UK government stripped him of his taxpayer-funded security after he and Meghan walked away from their royal family duties in 2020.
After Harry lost his case, he said it was not safe for him to return to the UK. However, the Court of Appeal ruled unanimously to renew his security on a case-by-case basis each time he visits the UK.
The Court of Appeal’s ruling didn’t apply to Meghan or their kids. So the King offered his own resources for the couple to bring their children for their first visit to the UK in four years.
The Home Office also granted taxpayer-funded round-the-clock armed police protection for their trip next month, according to the UK Sun.
After leaving the UK in 2020, Harry and Meghan traveled to Canada en route to California, where they planned to seek fame and fortune. They signed lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify. But when their $100 million deal with Netflix ended 5 years later, the streaming network decided not to renew. Netflix eventually signed the couple to a “multi-year” first-look deal, meaning the network gets the first rights of approval of their projects.
Apparently, the money from that deal isn’t enough to pay their substantial household bills, staff salaries and other expenses. British writers claim Harry and Meghan are drowning in financial debt. The couple would need to make at least $3 million annually to maintain their lifestyle, according to royal author, Tom Bower.
