LaVar Ball, father of NBA players Lonzo and LaMelo and rapper LiAngelo, said his wife, Tina, left him for another man after nearly 30 years of marriage.

LaVar, 58, announced his separation from his wife during a livestream with N3on at his Chino Hills, California home.

“You know with my wife, Tina, decided to go her own way. That’s why you don’t see her right here,” LaVar said. “But she want to go do something else, that’s fine with me. We had our run. So even though she had the stroke, and getting older, she would never be like, ‘Oh man, she was always beautiful in my eyes.’ Until you say, ‘I want to go do something else.’ Now you’re not as beautiful to me again.”

He continued: “The fact that if you decide to go this way, I’m going to go that way, that’s fine. That’s deep. It is what it is, man. And like I said, anytime you can find somebody you can stay in love with for a long time or for one day or whatever, if you can witness that love, that’s good. I had that with her. And I found somebody else, but it is what it is.”

LaVar didn’t identify his new partner, but he did say the woman works for him.

LaVar’s fans aren’t convinced that he’s telling the truth.

One person on a manosphere board wrote: “I think Lavar is not telling the whole truth especially since he has already moved on with someone who works for him. No woman will leave after suffering a stroke because “the something she found better to do” is not likely to take on a woman who has ongoing medical issues. Only something drastic would prompt an ailing person to leave.”

LaVar and Tina, 58, met at Cal State Los Angeles and got married in 1997. She suffered a stroke in February 2017 and LaVar nursed her back to health. She still struggles with aphasia and has difficulty speaking.

LaVar didn’t allow their sons to see Tina in her condition while she was sick. “You all do what ya’ll do. I got your mama,” he told them, according to ESPN.

In February, LaVar revealed doctors amputated his right foot due to complications from diabetes. Later, doctors also surgically removed his right leg. He now walks with a prosthetic leg.
