Moneybagg Yo’s former manager filed a $100 million lawsuit against him, his Memphis-based record label, and Roc Nation for breach of contract.
Sherry Jackson-Floyd claims she helped launch Moneybagg Yo’s career before she was pushed aside in favor of Jay-Z’s management company, Roc Nation. The case was filed in Shelby County and is set to go to trial in October.
In her lawsuit, Floyd alleges “intentional interference or interference with contract on the part of Roc Nation, because they knew that this contract existed.”
“It’s a commercial contract case,” said Floyd’s attorney Ralph Gibson. Floyd claims she met Moneybagg Yo in 2015 when he was a struggling artist averaging $1,500 to $2,500 per concert.

Floyd said she assumed the roles of his personal and business manager and filed his registered trademarks as well as the necessary documents to legally recognize Bread Gang Enterprises as a limited liability company in Tennessee.
Floyd said she was not paid for her services, even though she put down $125,000 on a Rolls-Royce for Moneybagg Yo, bought him a Mercedes-Benz G Wagon, and contributed between $1.5 million and $2 million to the “Moneybagg Yo” brand.

“He would call her, and she would pay off credit cards for him. She bought him $50,000 worth of jewelry. She paid for a lot of the media so that he’s seeing more social media posts on the internet, and she took care of a number of his children. I believe there are 7 or 8 of them,” said Gibson with Gibson Perryman Attorneys at Law.
“Obviously, he was the artist, but without her, he could not have gotten as big as he got,” Gibson said.
“What Roc Nation does is they have artists come to them, and then usually the industry standard is that they’re supposed to pay for the local manager and producer, and they just didn’t do that in this case,” he explained.
The rapper, real name Demario DeWayne White Jr., has not responded to the allegations.
