Angela Bassett Wears Styles That Flatter Women Over 65

Whether it’s the Met Gala or a red carpet movie premiere, Angela Bassett is always elegant and dressed to impress.

Being over 65 doesn’t mean she can’t steal the spotlight from everyone in the room.

Bassett has received various honors, including an Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards, as well as two Academy Award nominations and an Honorary Academy Award. In 2023, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Bassett is best known for portraying iconic singer Tina Turner in the biopic What’s Love Got to Do with It (1993), which earned her a Golden Globe Award and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.

She also played Queen Ramonda in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).

Bassett portrayed Katherine Jackson in the miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream (1992). When she was young, Bassett was “in love” with the Jackson 5, and dreamed of marrying a member of the musical sibling group.

She also starred in Boyz N the Hood (1991), Malcolm X as Betty Shabazz (1992), Strange Days, Vampire in Brooklyn, and Waiting to Exhale (all in 1995), and How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998).

Bassett was nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Rosa Parks in the television film The Rosa Parks Story (2002).
