Civil rights attorney Ben Crump revealed new developments in the ongoing investigation into 18-year-old Nolan Wells’ mysterious death.
Crump is currently holding a press conference in Nashville to announce the new developments in the case. He is speaking alongside National Urban League president Marc H. Morial, TMZ reported.
“Everybody who got children, you could understand the pain, the agony that this mother and father have been dealing with since 4th of July,” Crump said. He criticized Mississippi authorities for saying a preliminary autopsy found no foul play in Nolan’s death.
“How do you tell somebody ‘just go on when my son is dead and nobody’s giving us any answers,'” he said. “Nobody knows nothing, we refuse to believe that… We refuse to accept that nobody knows nothing.”
He continued: “Somebody saw something. Come forward like Nolan would do.”
Nolan’s body was found face down near the shoreline on Horn Island on July 6. He was reported missing by his family after he celebrated July 4 with friends on the island, about 10 milies off the coast of Mississippi.
Nolan’s parents submitted subpoenas to social media giants for communications and other data on their son’s social media profiles.
The subpoenas were issued to Snapchat, WhatsApp, TikTok, Meta Platforms and the location-tracking app Life360, according to court documents obtained by the Sun Herald.
There are reports that someone deleted messages on Nolan’s cell phone that was in the possession of a friend.
