Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance welcomed their 4th child, a baby boy, on Sunday, July 19. The VP announced the birth of his son in a social media post.
Vance becomes the first sitting VP in 150 years to welcome a baby while in office.
“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother,” the statement read.
Vance thanked the doctors and staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the White House medical team.
JD and Usha are already parents to Ewan, 9; Vivek, 6; and Mirabel, 4.
President Donald Trump shared an image of newborn Alec with his siblings on his Truth Social app on Monday.
JD and the Second Lady made headlines last year when he said he hoped she would convert from her Hindu religion to Christianity.
Vance made the comment at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi on Oct. 29, 2025. The event was hosted by Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow.
Vance’s presence at the event sparked rumors that he was having an affair with Erika Kirk.
