A Florida woman fatally shot a 62-year-old man during a dispute over a parking spot outside a North Lauderdale Walmart on Tuesday, June 30.
Bart Diguglielmo, a retired nurse and Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army, was shot once in the belly by an unidentified woman just before 12:30 p.m., the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
Cell phone and dash cam videos show the woman get out of her car with a gun in her hand. She pointed the gun at Diguglielmo as he approached her during the confrontation.
Diguglielmo put both of his hands in the air as they yelled at each other, witnesses said.
The tense confrontation escalated when the woman shot Diguglielmo in the abdomen and he collapsed on the ground. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The woman told investigators that she shot Diguglielmo in self-defense, police said. No charges have been filed. Police are withholding the woman’s name.
Witnesses told a reporter that the woman became hysterical while police spoke to her about the shooting.
“I was walking up and heard a lady screaming,” David Anderson told CBS News Miami. “She was screaming and she was saying a lot of things.”
Diguglielmo, a native of New Jersey, lived in Lauderhill, Florida, his sister said.
The Broward County State Attorney’s Office will determine if the woman will face charges following the police investigation.
