The WNBA deleted a post that shows star players Angel Reese, of the Atlanta Dream, and Paige Bueckers, of the Dallas Wings, betting on Wednesday night’s game.
Angel and Paige are seen in a viral video wagering $400 on the outcome of the game at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
One X user who reposted the video wrote, “I cannot believe the official @WNBA account actually posted this video of Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese betting on tonight’s game they are playing in. Should the players be disciplined?”

The Dream (17-10) won the game by a score of 82-81 over the Wings (18-10).
Angel doubled down on collecting her winnings during a post-game interview. “Yeah I’ll be requesting my Apple Pay after this,” she said.

Professional athletes are warned at the start of every season about betting on their games. Athletes who bet on their own sport can damage the integrity of the game and erode the trust of their fans.
According to the WNBA’s $2 billion CBA agreement, signed in March, “Any player found guilty of betting on the league faces steep discipline,” including suspension or a permanent lifetime ban.
WNBA fans are calling for at least a 5-game suspension for Angel and Paige for betting on camera.
Pro athletes who bet on their own games are suspended, arrested or given lifetime bans. There are no exceptions. The NBA’s GOAT Michael Jordan was forced to retire after he was caught betting.
Other examples of pro athletes who were suspended, arrested or given lifetime bans for betting include Jontay Porter, Terry Rozier, Chauncey Billups, the late Pete Rose and many more.
