A graphic designer lost a valuable client after he posted rapper A$AP Rocky‘s private direct message on Instagram.
Allan Peters is a graphic designer who has worked for some of the giants in the entertainment and tech industries.
A$AP Rocky reached out to Allan in a direct message to humbly inquire about his services.
He wrote:
“Good morning Allan, how much do you charge for brand logo revision? Assuming you would be willing to do so, I would be honored, love ur work. god bless.”
Instead of responding to Rocky in the DM, Allan posted a screenshot of Rocky’s private message on his public Instagram timeline for the world to see.
Allan then followed up in a separate post, writing, “I have no words.”
Hours later, Rocky wrote: “THIS IS JUST DISTASTEFUL, WELL I GUESS WE WON’T BE WORKING, BEST OF LUCK BUDDY.”
The posts went viral on Monday morning. Many social media users weighed in, calling Allan “unprofessional,” and “attention-seeking.”
One person wrote on Reddit.com, “yeah like most celebs are gonna want to know the people they work with are discrete, bro failed the first test.”
Another Redditor wrote: “Why would you post on your Instagram profile with a large audience a private message. just move in silence.”
Unprofessionalism killing the creatives ?
