An unconfirmed viral rumor claims 400,000 servers are spitting in Black customers’ food in White restaurants.
The unconfirmed report first surfaced on Facebook. The rumor claims 400,000 restaurant servers in a private Facebook group are discussing spitting in Black people’s food or licking their fingers and touching food.
The 400,000 servers in the Facebook group allegedly work at Texas Roadhouse and Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants.
“I want this to be fake news so bad, but apparently it’s not,” wrote X.com user @yannaarose_.
So, apparently there’s a FB group of 400k+ white members who work as servers at Texas Roadhouse and Logan’s that are spitting in black peoples food. They are also licking their fingers and touching the rolls. I want this to be fake news so bad, but apparently it’s not.

However, a Community note on X stated:
“There is no evidence of a 400,000-member Facebook group of Texas Roadhouse and Logan’s servers discussing spitting in Black customers’ food. Texas Roadhouse has about 101,000 total employees.”
Civil rights activist Melody Angel called for Black consumers to boycott White-owned restaurants and support Black-owned businesses.
In an Instagram video, Melody said, “The solution is simple: stop going to White-owned restaurants. Circulate the Black dollar and go to Black-owned restaurants instead. When you see White servers at a restaurant, walk back out. That’s the solution.”
She continued: “When you knowingly walk into a White-owned establishment as a Black person, we now know what they think of us and our Black dollars. So that is your solution: don’t go. Circulate the Black dollar. This is a perfect excuse to continue to build economic power for the Black community.”
