Anne Hathaway addressed speculation about her baby bump before her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday.
The mom-of-3 wore a black ruffled top with plunging neckline and opened below her chest to expose her baby bump. She wore matching black pants and open toe heels.
Rumors spread on Sunday that the Oscar-winning actress wore a prosthetic baby bump to the world premiere of her movie, The End of Oak Street, in Burbank, California.
The End of Oak Street is a Sci-Fi thriller about a family battling prehistoric creatures on their quaint street. The film opens in theaters everywhere on August 14.
Anne, 43, wore a powder blue cropped top, designed by Atelier Prabal Gurung, with maternity low-rise jeans. Gurung described his creation as a “sculptural high-low halter top with a cascading train.” The top exposed Anne’s growing baby bump, which some fans claim was fake.
Anne addressed the gossip in an Instagram post on Monday:
“Fake hair, real bump. Enjoy The @endofoakstreet Block Party chaos with me as my outfit literally melts in the heat!!”
One person wrote on X: “I’m a woman and it looks like a fake preggo tummy especially that belly button thingy.”
Another person commented: “She’s wearing a fake pregnancy stomach. She’s not pregnant nor is she a biological woman.”
Anne’s unfounded prosthetic belly rumor is reminiscent of Beyoncé’s infamous folding belly during a TV interview in 2011.
Anne and her husband, Adam Shulman are expecting their third child. They have 2 sons, ages 10 and 6. She suffered a miscarriage in 2015.
During The Odyssey premiere in New York City, Anne expressed gratitude for the blessing that she and her husband “do not take for granted.”
“There’s always hope until there’s not, but when you get to a certain age, that hope looks like 1% to 2%,” she told Access Hollywood. “So we just decided to see where life took us, with a very, very healthy, realistic expectation, which was very low.”
She continued: “We’re overjoyed because we just know from personal experience that not everybody gets this, and certainly not when you want it – sometimes not ever.”
