Angel Reese, of the Atlanta Dream, was caught in another lie when she claimed she never played with Barbie dolls as a child.
Reese is known by her nicknames “Bayou Barbie” and “Chi-Town Barbie.”
Mattel released a limited edition Angel Reese Signature Barbie doll that retails for $34.97. The doll is still available at the Barbie store online and in retail stores like Walmart and Target.

Reese was dragged for claiming she never played with Barbie dolls when she was little because they “didn’t have dolls that look like me.”
An X user reminded Reese that she previously said she played with Barbie dolls as a child.

X.com user Brick Center noted that Black Barbie dolls have been in existence since before Reese was born. “She thinks she invented black Barbie,” Brick Center joked.

A Community Note explained: “Barbies that ‘looked like her’ have existed since the 1960s with the first one actually named “Barbie” being released in 1980.”
Another X user asked, “Why would you brand yourself Barbie if you never played with them because they were all white?”

There are black owned doll companies she could’ve done this with. Branding yourself as Barbie is weird if this is the premise
