Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from a WNBA game for wearing a T-shirt printed with the definition of woman.
The incident happened during the Indiana Fever vs Chicago Sky game at Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Sunday, August 23.
Enes wore a shirt that defined “woman” as an “adult human female.”
Enes, who declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft, got into a verbal altercation with Chicago Sky player Natasha Cloud, a masculine-identified woman who took offense to the shirt’s message.
She entered the stands and approached Enes while gesturing wildly at her and using profanity – all of which are prohibited in the league’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Enes extended her arms out to show Cloud her impressive wing span. But that only outraged Cloud even more. She had to be held back by her teammates.

Later, the former NBA player told Fox News that Cloud approached her after she celebrated Fever star Sophie Cunningham making a 3-pointer.
“I put my hands up to celebrate… Cloud came back and started screaming and yelling and said, ‘[Cunningham is] not going to sleep with you,'” Enes said.
The WNBA is in the midst of a crisis after several male-to-female athletes, including Enes and Royce White, declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft.
League commissioner Cathy Engelbert held an emergency meeting with general managers and team owners to come up with a definition for “woman” that wouldn’t insult liberals.
The meeting concluded several hours later without a clear definition of what a woman is – even though WNBA literally stands for Women’s National Basketball Association.
Engelbert plans to hold another meeting to settle the “woman” issue.
Before the game, Enes shared video on X.com that showed multiple Sky fans yelling at her outside the arena. One woman gave Enes the middle finger.
“Careful what you wish for, @WNBA. Freedom of speech never looked this good. Somehow controversial,” Enes wrote on X.
Enes and Royce (Roysha) are seen in a new commercial. Both ladies are expected to play for the WNBA next season.
