Graphic Designer Allan Peters publicly apologized to rapper A$AP Rocky for sharing his private DM on Instagram.
Peters is a graphic designer who has worked for some of the giants in the entertainment and tech industries.
A$AP Rocky contacted Peters in a private direct message on Instagram to inquire about his services.
Rocky wrote:
“Good morning Allan, how much do you charge for brand logo revision? Assuming you would be willing to do so, I would be honored, love ur work. god bless.”
Instead of responding to Rocky in the DM, Peters posted a screenshot of Rocky’s private message on his public Instagram timeline for the world to see.
Hours later, Rocky wrote: “THIS IS JUST DISTASTEFUL, WELL I GUESS WE WON’T BE WORKING, BEST OF LUCK BUDDY.”
In a new video, Peters said he “got excited” and posted Rocky’s inquiry because he thought Rocky would take it as compliment.
Peters explained that people consider it a big deal to receive a message from himself. They screenshot his message and post it: “Oh, my god, Allan sent me a message.”
“That always makes me smile,” Peters said. He was bewildered that A$AP Rocky didn’t appreciate what he did. “I thought it was a friendly thing to do. [Rocky] didn’t take it as such, and asked me to take down the post. We took it down. I apologized to him. And that’s all there is to it.”
