Milo Yiannopoulos, best known as Kanye West‘s ex-spokesman, was detained by ICE officials in Louisiana on Thursday, August 27.
He is being held at an ICE facility in Alexandria, Louisiana — a major hub used for deportation operations, Fox News reported.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Milo “overstayed his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws.” He then missed his court date and a judge issued a final removal order.

The 41-year-old conservative political commentator was born in Chatham, England, and attended primary school and universities in the UK.
It isn’t clear when Milo originally arrived in the United States. In 2017 he was a resident alien with an 0-1 visa, which is granted to foreign nationals who possess extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics.
An O-1 visa is initially granted for up to three years and can be extended for one year at a time.
Milo worked for Breitbart from 2014 to 2017. In July 2016, he was banned from Twitter for harassing comedic actress Leslie Jones.
He was permanently banned from Facebook in 2019.
Milo married his longtime boyfriend in Hawaii in September 2017. In March 2021, he told an LGBTQ+ publication that he was no longer homosexual and that he “demoted” his husband to housemate.
Milo later announced that he had become a Roman Catholic. He finalized his divorce from his husband.
Milo served as an unpaid summer intern for former US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in 2022.
He worked on Kanye’s 2024 presidential bid as his director of political operations, according to the New York Post.
