Former Chicago gangbanger Kacey Hester, aka OTF Jam, testified against rapper Lil Durk in his murder-for-hire trial.
Durk, real name Durk Banks, is on trial in California for bankrolling a hit on rap rival Quando Rondo in Los Angeles in 2022. The hit was to avenge the murder of aspiring rapper King Von who was killed by Rondo’s associate Lul Tim in Atlanta in 2020.
Chicago gang members traveled to California and stalked Rondo in 2022. They followed him to a gas station across from the Beverly Center and opened fire on his car. But they missed Rondo and killed his cousin, Lul Pab, instead.
Feds arrested the hitmen in Chicago – a day before they picked up Lil Durk when he tried to flee the country on an international flight from Miami.
On Thursday, August 27, Durk’s high-profile defense attorney Brian Steel cross-examined OTF Jame about being a federal snitch.
The former Black Disciples member revealed that he only told police about the murder of Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab, after he was arrested for gun possession.
Steel asked OTF Jam if he told police about the murder in exchange for less prison time for the gun charge.
OTF Jam says he feels bad for snitching on his former friend, Lil Durk.
“I still got a lot of love for him. Blood was there for me… You can’t forget that. I feel bad… I know he probably hate me, but I still got love for him. I just ain’t got no respect for him no more, though.”

Jam gave jurors a detailed account of the alleged murder plot targeting Quando Rondo.
Jam testified that he and Asa Houston went to Hooters after landing in San Diego while waiting for other gang members to arrive. He said “Boonie” later called and explained the plan to kill Rondo, while Durk could be heard on another speaker phone in the background.
Jam also identified gang banger Doodie Lo as Co-Conspirator 4. He alleged that Lo provided Rondo’s location to the group during a FaceTime call after their arrival in San Diego. Jam testified that Lo received the information from someone who was supposed to deliver weed to Rondo.
The alleged plan was to catch Rondo outside his Los Angeles hotel when he came out to pick up the weed delivery.
When Rondo and others appeared outside the hotel on August 18, Jam said the area was “too hot” because of heavy police activity. The group allegedly abandoned the attempt and stayed at another hotel overnight.
Jam testified that Durk allegedly promised $1 million if they killed Rondo or his associate, Lul Tim (King Von’s killer).
Durk allegedly said, “if MFs catch Quando or Tim they gonna be straight, you ain’t gotta worry about nothing.”

Videos circulating on social media shows Durk welcoming Jam and another man home from prison by gifting them $50,000 each.
“He steady crying, hold on,” Durk said while handing cash to OTF Jam. “Feed him!” someone in the background said.
But Durk eventually grew suspicious of Jam. In a 2023 group text that was submitted into evidence, Durk wrote, “He gon’ tell (snitch) soon… As long as we don’t break they can tell them whatever.”
