Former NFL star Michael Strahan secretly welcomed a child with his longtime girlfriend, Kayla Quick.
The couple welcomed a baby girl, TMZ reported exclusively on Thursday.
Michael, who turns 55 in November, hooked up with Kayla, 36, in 2015, months after he ended his five-year engagement to Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife, Nicole Murphy.
The “Good Morning America” host already has four children, including 21-year-old twin daughters Isabella and Sophia with his second wife, Jean Mugli.
He also has two older children, daughter Tanita, 34, and son Michael Jr., 31, with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins.
Even though the four children grew up in separate households, Michael said they were “very close.”
“You worry how the kids will mix and blend, but brothers and sisters are brothers and sisters regardless of different mothers,” he told PEOPLE in September 2016.
The former New York Giants defensive end became a grandfather when Tanita gave birth to a baby boy in 2024.
Tanita and Michael Jr. were raised in Germany and they speak fluent German.
Even though they lived on separate continents, Michael Sr. said it was important for him to be active in his children’s lives.
“I was constantly on planes and phones. And it’s very hard — of course it’s hard with them being in Germany. But one thing I learned is, you make time for what you want to make time for.”
Wanda moved the children back to the United States and Michael purchased a $163,000 house for them in the same Houston neighborhood where his parents live.
In an interview with Andy Cohen, Michael said he wanted to keep his relationship with Kayla private.
One possible reason for all the secrecy is Kayla’s lengthy criminal past, which includes grand theft and disorderly conduct, according to Page Six.
Michael has never publicly acknowledged Kayla’s criminal past.
“One thing I learned? The whole public relationship thing doesn’t work. I prefer to do my thing and live my life away from that. It puts too much pressure on it,” Michael told Andy.
