“Love and Hip-Hop: New York” alum Sidney Starr denied felony child assault charges in a statement to TMZ.

Sidney, 37, was arrested after an incident involving a 14-year-old boy at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Hapeville, Georgia on Sunday, August 2.

In the statement, Sidney “unequivocally denies the allegations” and intends to vigorously fight the charges through the legal process.

“Allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process,” Sidney said.

Sidney added that their case should not be used to stigmatize the transgender community.

According to the Hapeville Police Department, the case was handed over to Fani Willis’ Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Sidney, a male-to-female transgender, was booked as a male and transferred to the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

Sidney’s arrest was caught on camera. TMZ obtained an image that shows Sidney wearing a black crop top and black leggings with their hands handcuffed behind their back.

Meanwhile, some members of the trans community are distancing themselves from the reality star. One trans community member reminded X followers that Sidney doesn’t represent the entire trans community.
