A Florida woman will not face charges for fatally shooting Army veteran Bart Diguglielmo in the parking lot of a North Lauderdale Walmart on June 30.

Diguglielmo, 62, was shot and killed after an argument with Melissa Payne over a parking spot.

Prosecutors said Payne will not be charged due to Florida’s “stand your ground” laws, according to the New York Post.

The Broward County state attorney’s office says Payne acted in self-defense when she gunned down the unarmed Army veteran.

The incident was captured on video and went viral on social media. Diguglielmo’s daughter, Amanda, denied reports that the retired trauma nurse was abusive.

Amanda described her father as a “good man” and said that he was a former ER trauma nurse and a father of three.

Through tears, Amanda said nobody “deserves to lose their life over a parking spot.”

Diguglielmo’s distraught sister described her brother as a decorated war veteran who served during Operation Desert Storm, according to CBS News Miami.
