Former BET personality and radio host Angela Stribling has died following a 2-year battle with brain cancer. She was 58.

“It is with a broken heart that I share that my beloved wife, Angela Marie Stribling passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 26, after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer,” her husband Ken Washington said in a statement to WHUR 96.3 FM.

Washington said he and Stribling’s sister, Darlene, were at her bedside when she passed.

Former BET journalist Ed Gordon mourned his colleague’s passing in a Facebook post on Sunday. “So very sad to hear Angela Stribling has passed away,” he wrote. “Her years at BET saw her host a number of shows and her sultry voice made her a staple on radio in the DC area and on Sirius.”

Stribling hosted “The Quiet Storm” on Washington, DC’s WHUR radio station. She also hosted the station’s late night relationship advice show, “Pillow Talk with Angela.”

Stribling hosted BET’s Screen Scene and co-hosted “On Time” with the late Melvin Lindsey on Baltimore’s WJZ-TV.

In addition to radio and TV work, Stribling was a classically trained vocalist and jazz singer.

She sometimes filled in to host “Video Soul” for her colleague and friend Donnie Simpson.

Simpson described Stribling as “incredible. What a talent. Her biggest talent was just her personality. What a gift God gave her.”
