Actress Jasmine Guy reacted to “brutal” comments about her looks on social media. The “Different World” sequel series star has undergone multiple plastic surgeries over the decades.

In an Instagram post, Jasmine asked her followers to understand that growing older brings change.

“The internet can be brutal to women as we grow older. It asks us to celebrate life while criticizing every sign that we’ve lived it,” she wrote.

“Growing older brings change, and I won’t pretend every change is easy. But beauty, style, and joy don’t have an expiration date. Let’s spend less time judging ourselves and each other, and more time loving each other, making memories, and living the life we’re here to live.”

Jasmine was 25 when she starred as Whitley Gilbert on “The Cosby Show” spin-off “A Different World” in 1987. She replaced the show’s original star Lisa Bonet, who left the series the following year.

After the series ended in 1993, Jasmine played the mother of Halle Berry’s character in the CBS TV mini-series “Queen.”

She appeared in 2 episodes of “Melrose Place” in 1995, and in 1996, she appeared on “Living Single,” and in a recurring role on the CBS drama “Touched by An Angel.”

The comments about her looks began when Jasmine was in her mid-40s.

In 2014, rumors spread that Jasmine had lupus. She responded in a Facebook post, “Had a great birthday, I DON’T HAVE LUPUS. NEVER DID. DON’T WORRY! Bad rumor.”

In 2018, more rumors swirled about her looks. “What is wrong with Jasmine Guy?” someone wrote on a gossip message board.

Meanwhile, Jasmine has stayed booked and busy. She has appeared in over 50 movies and 55 TV shows. She also writes and produces for TV and films.
