Kim Zolciak’s troubled son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr. was released from jail on $200,000 bond on September 11, following his August 17 arrest for sexual battery of a victim under the age of 16.
The 15-year-old — whose father is retired NFL player Kroy Biermann – can have no contact with his 15-year-old victim, as well as anyone age 16 or younger.
KJ must attend school virtually, and have no cell phone or Internet usage. Any violation of those restrictions will land him back in jail until his trial.
On Feb. 18, 2025, Kim, 48, claimed in a motion for an emergency hearing in Fulton County that Kroy, 41, confiscated their children’s cell phones after he made a “discovery” on one of the devices.
The discovery was redacted from public court documents.
Kroy filed for divorce from Kim in May 2023. The divorce is still pending.
KJ’s lawyer, Jason Sheffield, denied the allegations against his client. Kim also denied the allegations.
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” she said in a statement to Page Six.
She continued, “We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations.”
However, she has not commented publicly since the prosecutor’s office presented evidence that shows KJ molested a female relative under the age of 12 – and recorded the act on his cell phone.
Deputy District Attorney Caitlin McGillicuddy noted that KJ was previously charged with sexual battery against the female relative, which had not been publicly reported since he is a juvenile.
McGillicuddy said there were “multiple encounters” on KJ’s cell phone that showed him using “predatory, derogatory” language toward the child victim.
“This would now mark the second time he has been charged with an offense of a sexual nature of a very serious kind which involves female victims,” McGillicuddy said.
She said KJ had been under court supervision since October 2025 following the incident with the family member, which was reported in April 2023.
Kim Zolciak has six children – four with her estranged husband Kroy Biermann.
According to TMZ, Kim’s youngest daughter, Kaia Rose, 12, was removed from the family home in 2023 and sent to live with her paternal grandmother in Montana.
TMZ reported that Kaia received a flip phone to make one 15-minute phone call with each parent per day.
There was also a very strict rule that she was not allowed to be alone with any boys.
Kaia and Kim’s youngest son, Kane Biermann, are twins. Kim and Kroy also share 14-year-old son Kane Biermann.
