A viral video shows two USA teammates appearing to clap under duress when Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark scored a three-pointer in a 105-64 win over Czechia in a FIBA game on Sept. 7.

The video footage shows Las Vegas Aces star Jackie Young clapping for Clark. Lip readers say Young tells USA teammate Kahleah Copper, “You’d better clap.”

Young, 28, is among the LGBTQ+ WNBA players who despise Clark for bringing the WNBA riches and fame.

Young was drafted No. 1 overall by the Aces in 2019. She recently signed a one-year deal with the Aces for $1.19 million, as part of the new $2.2 billion Collective Bargaining Agreement. The new CBA would not be possible without Clark’s star power and influence.

Young (pictured center) earned $252,450 in 2024 – the year Clark was drafted No. 1 by the Fever.

Clark, 24, is considered a megastar to Europeans who are well aware of the hateful treatment she’s received from LGBTQ+ players like Young, her girlfriend DiJonai Carrington, and Alyssa Thomas and her fiancée, DeWanna Bonner.

X users roasted Team USA in the video comments.

One person wrote: “They knew the cameras were on them, so they had to remind each other to give a fake, half-hearted clap!”

Another person wrote: “If Clark wasn’t bringing people like me to watch they would still be making peanuts for money.”

A third person wrote: “[Caitlin] is a straight white woman in a league dominated by lesbians, mostly black, and that is why she cannot be the face of the league in their eyes.”
