Sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do to keep his job — especially if that man is the president of the United States.
It’s too bad Barack Obama didn’t see the writing on the wall when he signed his healthcare bill into law despite the widespread protests from millions of Americans who were against it.
With his job approval ratings hitting an all-time low in 2011 — 46% — Obama is feeling the pressure to correct his error in judgment by quietly approving waivers for customers of his rich insurance buddies so they don’t have to participate in ObamaCare.
According to Hot Air, the entire state of Maine will be given waivers to exempt them from participating in ObamaCare — that’s 1,328,381 people.
Maine isn’t alone, New Hampshire, Nebraska, and Kentucky have requested waivers as well. That would add another 3,912,691 waivers to the growing list.
It seems that the same people who protested so vigorously against ObamaCare are now being issued waivers to opt out of participating in it.
You’re probably asking yourself, ‘why would Obama sign a health care bill into law and then allow millions of people in certain states to quietly opt out of it?’
Good question. But here’s a better one: guess who’s going to end up getting stuck with the massive fees for health insurance in the coming years? You get what you ask for.
Obama pls focus and adjust your priorities back tracking is not a good look!
SMH at Sandra…..
the Obama administration wavier doesn’t mean that they opt out of the Obamacare plan. Certain provisions were made.
And honestly, Maine is going to feel the burn, not the rest of us.
Maine hasn’t requested to opt out of healthcare reform. They just opted to allow the insurance companies to get a larger profit for one year. It’s a bad day for everyone that has health insurance in the state of Maine. They are getting less healthcare for the money they are paying into the insurance company. SMH
*slams the door on this post and goes to back to the hoochie momma post*
I think a major part of the bill was penalizing those who didn’t want health care. The big argument is you can’t MAKE someone purchase it right?
So why not let those who want to opt out do so?
the ppl of Maine still have to have Health insurance. That was the bigger focus.
I was never a fan of FORCING people to pay for something that a) they might not be able to afford or, b) something they may simply not want.
There are segments of society who don’t believe in doctors or
conventional medicine, so they don’t use insurance… why is it mandatory that they be insured?
On another note, what’s interesting to me is that the main people who are fussing about health insurance live in trailers and are the main ones who NEED it.
Here you are with no teeth and you let someone tell you that you don’t need to have insurance in case your other tooth flys across the room with you “pa-toot!!!” that dip!
@BLU
I like a smart man
lol
RIGHT @ Mamacita!
That was always my issue. I think it should be AVAILABLE if you want it, but nobody should be able to tell you that you HAVE to have it.
@Mamacita
If something happens let them pay for the (higher) cost out their pockets.

You just proved my point: that Obama doesn’t care about the people — only the fat cat insurance companies. I’ve been saying this since day 1. I’m glad you kids are finally paying attention.
FoxE, that will never happen just like it isn’t happening now.
People like me who have health insurance are already paying the bill for those who don’t and who end up having their medical bills written off by hospitals.
The funny thing is that the health care system or at least the insurance part is going to collapse soon because it’s going to become so expensive that employers are going to pay less and less and leave it up to the employee to pay a larger share. And then that employee who hasn’t had a raise in a couple of years is going to have to decide whether it’s better to continue to pay ever more expensive insurance premiums and copays or just take a risk that nothing will happen to them.
On the other end are those insurance companies won’t insure due to pre-existing conditions. So eventually the insurance companies are going to run out of customers, then the American public will look to the government for a solution.
RoderickXYZ Health care/Health insurance is just a big a*s scam and it’s robbing the taxpayers already anyway!
We dish out hundreds and hundreds of dollars for health insurance and sometimes it STILL won’t help you. And let’s not even talk about pre-existing conditions. We’re screwed either way. I can’t stand the way these companies rob us blind and now are complaining about losing money. Really?
I was listening to a story the other day where this mother was trying to raise money for her child’s heart medication. Do you want to know how much the medication was a month??? $9000!!!! All of that JUST to keep her child alive and healthy
<<<<<<SMH
You’re probably asking yourself, ‘why would Obama sign a health care bill into law and then allow millions of people in certain states to quietly opt out of it?’
I know. Because million of people are Stupid and have NO INTENTIONS of paying for their health bill when something happens to them and will expects others to foot their bill for them, that’s why. Duhhhh.
I am sure there are some important factuals and actuals that are not being reported…so I really can’t speak on it.
Bottom line: my black azz got health insurance and that chit is high…but a bi.tch gotta do what a bi.tch gotta do
@RoderickXYZ
I agree.. However, Insurance companies no longer can deny a person health insurance due to a pre-existing condition. At the same time they can dictate their premium based on numerous factors that include, place residency, demographic, # of enrollees in said area, and the average health status of a town.
A few of the provisions that are set to take place in 2014 (if it happens), requires insures to state how much of the premiums being paid is actually used towards administrative costs, marketing, and health expenses. I think its suppose to be capped out at a certain %. if its over then a refund or adjustment should be given.
We shall see however!
So hopefully with the subsidize coverage it will keep costs down and insurance affordable.
The most powerful man in America isn’t, nor has it ever been, the POTUS. It’s members of congress, particularly the party with the majority.
Obama’s most powerful “tool” is the ability to veto. If he doesn’t concede certain points, other policies he want’s passed won’t see daylight.
So Mamacita, what do you suggest? A single-payer plan like Medicare(for All)?
Unfortunately that would be true socialism but after the health care system crashed I don’t think that most Americans will be so recultant to the idea.
FoxE I think that Obama and the Democrats designed this bill to fail because it’s way too complicated and it’s leaving too many uninsured.

_______________
The bill was designed to grant Obama another spot in history for getting it passed, and to line the pockets of the fat cat insurance suits and politicians who would benefit from all the new customers.
I might need help everytime I see the word facial on this site I think we are aboutto go

The ins companies were rich before Obama and will be rich after so thats neither here nor there thats just the “American way”. The system needed to be overhauled for YEARS! You cant please everybody and some people didnt want anything done and thats not right either. While I dont want anybody “forced” to pay for ins that they dont want I also dont want state/county run hospitals forced to closed/lay off folks cause folks dont pay for their medical bills AFTER something happens. Having worked at an ins company for yrs I saw medical treatment request get DENIED all the time due to pre existing conditions and it was sad the letters people would write for their appeals.
I may not like everything about the bill BUT I am glad he stepped up and attempted to fix it. I havent heard anybody else offering any real solutions just complaining so they can cry a river for all I care
Health care and education BOTH need/needed major overhauls
@queen Did you enjoy yourself at CIAA
Wow how about all of the people on here talking about it should be a choice to be insured. No it shouldn’t! you have to have car insurance or you get your license revoked. You have to have car insurance incase you hurt someone or yourself while driving. In the case of personal health insurance say you hurt yourself but cant afford to pay you still are going to take your ass to the emergency room get serviced leave and just say eff that bill. Now that leaves the bill you just generated for the rest of the people to cover or for the hospital to just take an L. Thats not in anyway fair and is one of the reasons healthcare in the states is so doamn expensive.
@ SR how would insurance companies pockets get lined in many ways the healthcare bill is allowing everyone the chance to be covered. If the insurance companies wanted more customers or were concerned by there bottom line that wouldn’t have been denying people for pe-exsting conditions.
But whatever SR for some reason can do detailed research on which celebrity is
or which celebrities are
but fails to look at the big picture beyond the conspiracy theories.

@ Al exYou Still got a Job? They Paying You?
Let your Pay Check be your Medicine!
Good Morning
Heeeey yall
@ Alex – I’m sick of the Man too…I wanna start a lil light revolt but I need this job right now…
The big problem is the American people have been convinced that the Obama was taking their stuff that they worked hard for, and in reality its the opposite. Villify the working man, public employees, omg they are getting more than you are. Sandra is right in this aspect when she says you get what you vote for. All those Dems and repubs who are millionares and billionares went in masses and voted to get their stuff back in this last election havent seen anything yet? Notice they have created one job or passed any bills to help create job, they have instead attacked social programs. In reality they are slowly stripping away your rights and have convinced you its good for you. I don’t support the reelection of Obama not because he’s not a good President I think he’s a wonderful President but this country is best when they are blindly led. A forward thinking President and a dutifully stupid country never mix!
@AL
I do appreciate the check. However, I don’t appreciate the B.S. they continue to come up with. I’ll take the medicine for now while I work on finding a cure.
