Two LAPD officers are under investigation for using excessive force against a registered nurse during a routine traffic stop.

The 2 officers pulled over Michelle Jordan, 34, of Sunland, on Aug. 21, for allegedly talking on her cell phone while driving in northeast Los Angeles, according to the NY Daily News.

Jordan pulled into the parking lot of a Del Taco restaurant and the two officers pulled in behind her. Jordan’s attorney admits she mouthed off at the officers when she got out of her car to confront them.

Both officers grabbed the nurse and yanked her out of her car, slamming her on the ground. After placing Jordan in handcuffs one officer body slammed Jordan a second time. The brutal take down was caught on a surveillance video at the nearby Del Taco restaurant.

After placing Jordan in the back of a patrol car the officers appeared to share a fist bump.

Jordan was charged with resisting arrest and later released.

NBCLA reports that the officers, whose names have not been released, were placed on desk duty while the LAPD internal affairs department conducts an investigation.

“We have a defenseless woman in a sun dress, two fully armed police officers with training and various restraining devices that they could have used, and instead they used nothing but brute force,” Jordan’s lawyer, Arthur Corona, told KABC.

Chief of police Charlie Beck released a statement Tuesday, saying the 2 officers’ statements, in addition the video, raised “serious concerns” for him. Beck said the officers will be investigated thoroughly and they will be held accountable for their actions.

Ms. Jordan is considering filing a lawsuit against the LA police department. Obviously the officers have deep-seated issues with women. Imagine how they treat their wives or girlfriends at home.
