A couple of days ago I traveled to College Park, GA to shoot Rocko Da Don‘s meet & greet at the DTLR store. I wasn’t in the store 2 minutes when a male friend approached me and began running his fingers across my scalp looking for tracks.
I notice a lot of gay men do this. But I am always confident that when they touch my hair looking for tracks, they will never find what they are searching for. That’s because my bra strap length mane is made possible through a weaving process called invisible infusions.
It’s hard to find stylists in the Atlanta area who do Invisible Infusions. Leslie Leland of Hair Ex, whose clients include Porsche Foxx and Elle of V-103, does a process similar to Invisible Infusions called the “strand by strand” method.
Hair-Ex, based in the affluent Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs, Georgia, provides top quality hair extensions for weaves. Founder and sole proprietor Leslie Leland launched the business nearly three years ago and today her pioneering enterprise is Georgia’s premier hair importer.
“We import virgin Indian and Malaysian hair from India and we retail it here in the states. I basically got into it for my colleagues in the entertainment business,” says Ms. Leland, who began her international human hair importing company while on hiatus from the music business.
Ms. Leland is the executive producer of Rissi Palmer’s (touted as the first African American female country singer) debut album.
Hair-Ex acquires the finest human manes from its cultivators overseas and does their own importing, which enables them to provide the best value for the highest quality. “I traveled over to India in December 2005, met with native exporters and studied the business,” she said. “When a customer comes in to our retail location we match their hair and they’re able to purchase it right then. On average our prices are between $350 and $900,” said Ms. Leland. (Source)
Hair-Ex is located at 5975 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, Georgia. Purchases can be made online by visiting: www.hair-ex.com or call (404) 843-4447.

How much does your service usually cost Sandra?
Please make sure this information gets to Trina and Kelle. I’d be willing to start a let the lace front go/save your hairline fund…for just $2 you can help a soul LTLFG/SYHL.
Maybe he wasn’t feeling for tracks…he could have been just running his fingers through your hair and about to whisper sweet nothings in your ear
tee hee hee
I guess. I will stick w/what I have & the key to any length of hair is to get it HEALTHY……short, medium, long if its healthy it looks damn good…..I can find other things to spend $300-$900
i’ll gladly contribute $5 to the Trina “please retire the lacefront and the played out baddest girl routine” fund immediately!
anywho, i wonder if it’s still hard to find good stylists in chgo who does the II…many, many yrs ago a good friend of mine (she’s also a stylist) got hers done and payed a grip…
Yea…must cost a pretty penny though..
LMAO!!!!
@ hellava10 you got me laughing so hard my boss came around the corner to see what I was doing LOL please stop.
You learn something new everyday. Sandra, for some reason you do not seem like the type that would rock a weave. But you do seem like the type if your going to do it, you will do it right
I know you got about 2-3 LV purses
Hair Ex in Sandy Springs is not even open. I go past there when I go to work and that whole plaza is under construction.
You couldn’t find a classier picture of Ms. Leland, Brainy and Beautiful? She looks like she’s ready for her “Make me a star!” shot when the lawnboy comes in a rips off her clothes for the video camera.
When i was getting relaxers my hair was past my shoulders and everyone considered my hair to be “good”. People had a problem with touching my hair to feel for tracks, especially black men…Somehow they couldnt believe that a black girl could have long hair that grew out of her scalp…it always bothered me. Now that i’m natural those same guys who loved my hair when it was relaxed..hate it now! ::shrugs::
LOL @ Mina!
I thought you were going to say they felt for tracks, but didn’t find what they were looking for, because it was YOUR HAIR! That threw me off.
People better be careful with that infusion process you might end up looking like Vivica Fox as Porsche is looking now.
Rule of thumb is just make the best out of what you have and grow it on your own!
A black woman about her business. If you are going to get a weave, this is how you would do it.
Okay, I am SO sorry, but did any one actually go to the http://www.hair-ex.com web page and see the India Distibution [side note- learn how to spell!] Center Video?
If anything, this should make you NOT want to buy any of this damn hair! Look at the conditions these people are working in to make this weave! And at the end of the video, it looks like they are in a jail!
glad i’m not into weave like that. i wish i WOULD pay $300-$900 for some fake isht!
does she have other clients? These two aren’t going to cut it for me.

lmao @ Sandra.. but yeah too much that is why I grow out my hair naturally! Shout out to my stylist Gigi!
Nothing is worse than seeing a tacky weave. LOL I stated in another post my hair is soooooooo damn long and I too believe that anybody that takes care of their hair the proper way should be able to grow it out. My sister’s hair was to her bra strap 2 years ago and she stopped dying and putting excessive heat to her hair and now her hair is almost my length.
It costs too much, It takes too long, and It pulls your hair out…strand by strand!
Did anyone check out the website with the video of the Indian Distribution Center…the lady using her feet…to do whatever for the sewing or making of the weave?
WoW…and you know their not getting paid that much…all that weave…
@ 14
on the other hand this is one of the few ways Women who are second class citizens in thier society can earn thier own money.
Not for me but good post for all who are interested.
I rock a short do and not cause I cant grow it I actuall cut over 12 inches off, I dont want to dedicate that much time or money to my hair.
Ah, it’s funny about Black women and hair. Most of the comments are people proclaiming how long their hair is, when nobody asked. Why?
Anyways, I’d like to see pictures of this invisble infusion. I don’t see anything really on her site and Porshe’s hair looks not to hot and Elle looks like she’s just the recipient of a good press.
