Sean Gathright spoke out for the first time since a Florida jury sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole for Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio‘s murder.

Over the weekend, video leaked showing Gathright on a prison phone speaking to his supporters. He said he is in solitary confinement as a part of protocol for new prisoners. “I should be out of here soon.”

Gathright shared the handle to his official Instagram page. “I’ve heard that a lot of y’all have been reaching out to my Instagram page @theofficialseang. This is my real page. This is the page that I will be communicating to the outside world from. I really appreciate all the messages and all the comments, likes, shares, and the donations.”

“We all know that God has the last word,” he added, “I just really appreciate y’all for seeing me in a different light.”

Gathright dubbed himself the “Golden Child” on his Instagram page. In his bio, he wrote the scripture: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28.”

The 20-year-old convicted felon is a model inmate. He told the jury he reads the Bible from cover to cover. And he mentors other inmates who can’t read.

Gathright launched a GoFundMe to raise money for his appeal. The fund has raised over $800 of his $24,000 goal.

Gathright tugged at heartstrings when he broke down crying while pleading with the jury to spare his life. He took the witness stand and told the jury he was sorry for his role in Julio Foolio’s murder.

He faced the death penalty along with his accomplices, Isaiah Chance and brothers Davion Murphy and Rashad Murphy. But the jury sentenced them to life in prison.

Concluding his message to his supporters, Gathright said, “I love every single one of y’all.”
