I don't follow troubled R&B singer Rihanna on Twitter. So I missed it when she categorically denied being in a relationship with rapper Drake -- as if we didn't already know that.

Meanwhile, Drake tweeted a subtle dig to Rihanna on his Twitter page, which I spotted, but at the time I wasn't aware that he was sub tweeting Rihanna.

Anyway, I wrote all that to say, Drake finally came out of the closet last night at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 42nd Annual Induction and Awards at The New York Marriott Marquis Hotel in NYC. There's no denying it now. Drake wore a black, swoop neck ladies top under his men's tailored jacket. His poses on the red carpet were decidedly feminine -- and he didn't care who noticed.

Craig Glendar (L), editor-in-chief of the Guinness Book of World Records, measures Junrey Balawing on June 12, 2011

A Philippines man was certified the world's shortest man when he turned 18 over the weekend.

Junrey Balawing of Sindangan in the southern Philippines is 23.6 inches (60cm) tall, making him nearly three inches shorter than the previous record holder, Khagendra Thapa Magar of Nepal.

Balawing was born a normal size, his family said, and they did not notice anything unusual about him until he was about 4 years old and his peers grew more than he did.

He has not grown since his first birthday, his parents told Guinness. Source

It does seem odd that the parents didn't notice their son was the size of a malnourished 1-year-old until he was 4. According to CNN, the family was impoverished and couldn't afford to take Junrey to a doctor to determine why he didn't grow.

It's a wonder that little Junrey lived to be 18. Look at his barrel chest. That's usually a sign of chronic respiratory problems.

His mother Concepcion told CNN that Junrey can't stand for too long because he's in too much pain. "He needs my care every minute of every day. Junrey can only walk with some help."

But they call him "their lucky charm," according to his father Reynaldo, a blacksmith by trade.

Junrey may have physical disabilities, but there's nothing wrong with his mouth.

When Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday (pictured above) asked him if he had a girlfriend, Junrey answered in his squeaky high-pitched voice: "You fool! Don't even ask!"

While Hip Hop has been slowly dying over the last decade, smart rappers like Ludacris were busy successfully crossing over to pop music. Ludacris's status as a successful crossover artist was evidenced by his appearance on the most staid award show, The CMT Country Music Awards. The Hip Hop heads may think Luda has sold them out, but this is about survival in a depressed economy. Luda has kids to feed.

Ludacris joined Jason Aldean onstage for a rap/country fusion of "Dirt Road Anthem" to close out the CMT Awards last night in Nashville, TN. After the show, Luda rubbed elbows with Justin Bieber (who picked up an award), Gary Busey ("Celebrity Apprentice"), actor John Hamlin and rapper Kid Rock, among others.

Twilight fans everywhere swooned, fainted and screamed "I KNEW IT!" when Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson tongued dived down the throat of his sexy co-star Taylor Lautner during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Saturday night.

Tearing a page from the Madonna and Britney Spears book of attention grabbing antics on awards shows, Pattinson told Kristen Stewart that he wasn't interested in kissing her after winning the Best Kiss award.

"I just think there's someone else in the audience who I think will appreciate it a little more," Pattinson said as he suddenly rushed into the audience and tongue-kissed Taylor Lautner.

"Oh man, this is silly," Stewart mumbled as the two actors kissed passionately.

Not to be outdone by Pattinson and Lautner's love throes, singer Justin Timberlake, who just recently broke up with his longtime girlfriend Jessica Biel, shocked the audience by firmly cupping his current girlfriend Mila Kunis's breasts onstage.

FiFi Award Winner Halle Berry, 44, had to stand on her tippy toes to chat with singer Trey Songz, 26, during the 2011 FiFi Fragrance Awards, held in the Tent at Lincoln Center in New York City yesterday. The FiFi award is given to celebs with the best fragrances in the market.

I met Trey face to face and I don't remember him being particularly tall. So Halle must be very short. R&B singer Mary J Blige, 40, also received a FiFi award for her fragrance, My Life.

Beyoncé is facing a storm of criticism following her performance of "Run The World (Girls)" at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. The singer who has based her career on stealing and copying other people's work has come under fire for ripping off the work of Italian pop star Lorella Cuccarini.

Bey's performance involved standing in front of a huge white screen while interacting with giant images projected onto it. But her act was strikingly similar to Cuccarini's performance last year during which she incorporated the same images and gestures in front of a huge white screen.

Bey's unspectacular performance caused online social network Twitter.com to explode with tweets raving about her "revolutionary" show. Some Twitter users tweeted they had never seen anything like it before.

But many viewers watching at home were not impressed with Beyoncé's act -- they had seen it all before.

That's because the same production company that designed the graphics for Cuccarini also designed Beyoncé's show. Unfortunately, they didn't bother to come up with any new concepts for Bey.

Media artist and film director Kenzo Digital designed the graphics for the performance and admitted Beyoncé and co. were inspired by Cuccarini, but charges the concept has been around since the '80s. "[The Cuccarini artists] are awesome and do incredible work as well, but there are a lot of different inspirations for where our piece came from," Kenzo explained to The Amp. Source

After Beyoncé's Billboard Awards performance my Inbox was flooded with emails accusing Bey of being a talentless copycat. One reader named Shalon wrote: "You be sooo right about Beyoncé. And I swear people think she is the best thing sense slice bread. I must admit you know your stuff!"

Celebrities in the audience were quick to congratulate Beyoncé on Twitter.
"BEYONCE go awwf! Wow!!! All I can say! BEYONCE a True Entertainer!! U Deserve the Success! Such a Hard Worker!"

And singer Rihanna, who will host the grand opening party for the new Vision nightclub in Atlanta next month, tweeted: "Congrats to Beyonce on a #MAJAH award and tribute."

It's sad how the black community continues to be preoccupied with celebrating mediocrity. We have to do better!

The Fashion Critic gave Beyonce the Most Uninspiring Award for wearing this black number from Lanvin's Fall 2011 Collection. She gussied up the unflattering dress with gold Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Rihanna, who usually dresses provocatively for awards shows, toned it down last night by opting for the understated elegance of a men's tailored Max Azria white suit with nude colored Louboutin’s. Her white, buttonless silk blouse was open down to her navel where she "showcased a gold fringe Solange Azagury-Partridge tassle necklace." She got my Best Dressed Award for the night.

According to fashion blog Upscale hype, rapper Nicki Minaj attended the 2011 Billboard Music Awards wearing a piece from the Mark Fast Spring 2011 Ready to Wear Collection and a Gareth Pugh outfit for her uninspiring performance of "Super Bass".

After performing her single "Run The World (Girls)" during last night's live telecast of the 2011 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, singer Beyoncé accepted the first ever Billboard Millennium Award from her proud mom, Tina Knowles, and her nephew Juelz.

The award was created to "recognize Beyoncé's career achievements and influence in the music industry."

Several of Beyoncé's close relatives, famous friends and collaborators -- including First Lady Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, The-Dream, U2's Bono, Babyface, Stevie Wonder, Solange and her son Daniel "Juelz" Smith, Barbra Streisand, Matthew Knowles and Tina Knowles -- took part in the Billboard Millennium Award presentation with pre-recorded personal messages about the singer's accomplishments and impact. Lady Gaga, who collaborated with Beyoncé on remixes of their singles "Telephone" and "Videophone," summed it up best: "You represent the dream," she said. Source

Side note: why is Juelz wearing culottes and driving shoes when he's not old enough to drive?
