Michael Jordan paternity lawsuit

NBA legend Michael Jordan has fired back at a sports groupie who claims he fathered her now 16-year-old son.

Jordan, 50, has asked Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane to dismiss the paternity suit filed by Pamela Y. Smith in Fulton County in early February.

Smith, 48, claims Jordan fathered her teenage son during a fling while Jordan was still married to his first wife, Juanita.

Smith also claims to be a practicing "Loveologist," and goes by the name Evette Smith on Twitter.

blood draw It's a patient's worst nightmare. A Harlem woman is suing a doctor for informing her she was HIV positive, the Huffington Post reports.

The 31-year-old woman is identified in the lawsuit as "Jane Doe" to protect her privacy. She said she became a patient of Dr. Pavel Yutsis who violated state law by tricking her into submitting blood for a HIV test without her written authorization.

Most states require written consent before administering an HIV test, and patient counseling if the test comes back positive.

"I was tricked. I never signed any paper," the woman told DNAinfo.com last week. "It was a slap in the face."

Hiphopenquirer.com was in court today when Allen Iverson's attorney informed Fulton County Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane that the former NBA star and his ex-wife, Tawanna Iverson, had reached a divorce settlement.

Hiphopenquirer.com spoke exclusively with Allen Iverson's attorney, Melanie Fenwick Thompson, after the hearing.

"Our client is extremely pleased with the outcome of the case even though we came in near the end of it, we had an uphill battle," she said. "Mr. Iverson showed up ready to actively participate in his case and fight for the things he wanted. I don't know and can't confirm that happened prior to us getting involved."

When Judge Bensonetta Tipton-Lane stripped Tameka Raymond of full custody of her 2 sons in favor of singer Usher Raymond, her controversial ruling exposed a little known practice of attorneys contributing to judicial campaigns.

Tameka's attorney, Lisa West, accused Judge Tipton-Lane of bias in light of the judge’s close ties with Usher Raymond’s attorney, John Mayoue, sparking a federal probe into corruption at the judicial level.

George Zimmerman enters court on Dec 11

George Zimmerman and his attorneys are being sued by the firm that provided security for him this past Summer.

In court documents, the security firm claims Zimmerman owes them $27,000 for services provided, which might explain why Zimmerman was selling his autograph earlier this month.

Zimmerman faces a 2nd degree murder charge in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin earlier this year.

A female trooper who conducted invasive body cavity searches on two women during a traffic stop has been suspended, CBS News reports.

Body cavity searches are normally conducted inside jail holding cells or in prisons -- not on a roadside in full view of passing motorists.

Elmo Accuser Recants

Elmo's voice can breath a sigh of relief now that his accuser has recanted his allegations of underage sex.

The law firm that represents Kevin Clash's unidentified accuser released a statement Tuesday afternoon that read:

"He wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship. He will have no further comment on the matter.”

Mr. Clash, who is on leave from Sesame Street, said through a spokeswoman: "I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further."

The sudden reversal led to speculation that the now 23-year-old accuser was paid handsomely for his silence by Clash or Sesame Street.

Gossip website TMZ.com has obtained emails exchanged by Kevin Clash, the voice of Sesame Street muppet Elmo, and a teenage boy. Clash, 52, has taken a leave of absence after being accused of underage sex with the boy when he was 16.

In one email Clash (who is married) writes, "I'm sorry that I keep talking about sex with you, its driving me insane."

Clash continued: "I'll have my assistant book a ticket for you to come to NY and we can talk about this in person."

Sesame Street reprimanded Clash for inappropriate use of company emails.

Halle Berry has lost another round in her ongoing child custody battle with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. A judge on Friday denied Berry's request to move her daughter Nahla, 4, to France -- the homeland of her current boyfriend, actor Olivier Martinez.

Halle, 46, will have to take Martinez's word that he won't cheat on her while he's away in France. Halle had hoped to move her daughter to France so she could keep an eye on her man.

Kevin Clash, the voice of Sesame Street muppet Elmo for the past 2 decades, has taken a leave of absence after being accused of underage sex with a 16-year-old boy.

Clash, 52, vehemently denies the allegations although he doesn't deny a sexual relationship took place between him and the now 23-year-old man.

"I had a relationship with [the accuser]," Clash told TMZ. "It was between two consenting adults and I am deeply saddened that he is trying to make it into something it was not."
