More Arrests At Fulton County Jail for Smuggling Contraband

Two workers and an inmate are under arrest at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia. A former correctional officer and a former jail nurse are charged with smuggling contraband into the facility.

Lorna Heath, a former detention sergeant, was arrested during her shift at work on Wednesday.

According to arrest warrants, former jail nurse Juanita Calloway is charged with smuggling drugs and cell phones into the facility. She was terminated in 2023 for having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate. The inmate, Reginald Arnold, was also arrested.

Following her termination in 2023, Calloway was banned from the jail grounds. But she reportedly continued to smuggle contraband into the jail using the help of others.

“A year ago, there was information that [Calloway] did have an inappropriate relationship with one of the residents there, and so she was no longer allowed in the facility,” said Natalie Ammons, director of communications for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

“Former nurse Calloway stated that she knows that Sergeant Heath moves contraband throughout the Fulton County Jail and has been doing it a long time, the arrest warrant reads.

Surveillance video shows Heath leaving her post to retrieve a cell phone charger from Arnold’s jail cell.

Another document, obtained by WSBTV, details nurse Calloway’s purchase and delivery of marijuana, cigarettes, and cell phones to an unknown third party in Douglasville, Georgia. That third party then delivered the contraband to Arnold in jail.

Four Fulton County Jail guards were previously arrested for smuggling cell phones, cigarettes, chicken pot pies, and other contraband to inmates.

Fulton County deputies arrested Laquana Ballard, 34, Regina Harris, 26, Anesia Silas, 24, and 26-year-old Aisha Tate.

Ballard is also charged with sending explicit photos and videos to an inmate. And Tate is accused of having inappropriate sex with an inmate, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

All four former guards were granted bond.

The Fulton County Jail has been plagued by problems, including inmate deaths in recent years.

On Thursday, Aug. 29, contractor security guards walked off the job at the Fulton County Jail due to “non-payment of services.”

Strategic Security Corporation says Fulton County owes the company more than $1 million for providing security services.

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat held a press conference on Thursday pleading for new security guards.

Nearly 50 SSC employees went to the jail on Thursday and “were offered conditional offers of employment as a security specialist,” according to Sheriff Labat.

A gang war broke out during a music video shoot in Chicago, Illinois recently.

According to social media blogs, the shootout occurred on August 25th on W 44th Street and Princeton Ave.

Miraculously, no one was shot. The Chicago police picked up 76 spent bullet casings off the street.

Aspiring rapper THF Lil Law was the intended target when he rapped the line, “Steady smoking Boss Top.”

The lyric “smoking on a pack” is gang slang dissing a dead opp (or gang rival) by naming a smoke “pack” after them.

However, Boss Top (born Davis Tyree) is very much alive.

Boss Top, 32, is an aspiring drill rapper from Chicago’s O’Block who is currently incarcerated. Boss Top is best known for his associations with Chicago drill rappers Lil Durk and the late King Von.

Boss Top’s homies apparently took offense to THF Lil Law dissing him in a rap song.

So when THF Lil Law rapped the offensive lyric, his homies shot up the set. It must have sounded like World War III to local residents.

Aurora, Colorado Mayor Mike Coffman confirmed that armed illegal immigrants have taken over three apartment complexes in his city near Denver.

The confirmation comes hours after news outlets aired shocking video of armed Venezuelan gangs roaming an apartment complex in Aurora.

The video shows heavily armed men entering an occupied apartment with weapons drawn.

“It’s only three complexes,” Mayor Coffman said on Thursday. “This is not to minimize it all but we’re the 51st largest city in America. There are three apartment complexes that we believe are – where there’s a concentration of Venezuelan migrants. And the criminality has unfortunately followed.”

In another interview, Mayor Coffman low-key blamed the Biden administration for not securing the border.

“I’m trying to walk it back and do the investigation as to how there’s a concentration of Venezuelans in these three buildings,” Mayor Coffman said.

“Somebody put them there. Somebody funded it, uh, whether it’s federal government or not. We’re trying to find out who.”

He continued: “I think we’re a victim of a failed policy at the southern border because what you have… according to my law enforcement, Venezuela does not cooperate with the United States in sharing criminal histories.”

It isn’t clear why Mayor Coffman waited weeks to finally confirm reports that illegal immigrants have taken over apartment complexes and kicked out Black residents.

Denver Police Department officials told FOX 31 on Wednesday, Aug. 28, that they were “not aware” of any gangs taking over buildings in the city.

Video uploaded to TikTok on July 29 shows illegal immigrants apparently looting a Target store and firing gunshots in the air.

Tyler Perry released the trailer for his Netflix movie “The Six Triple Eight” on Wednesday. The movie tells the true story about the 6888 Battalion, the only predominantly Black Women’s Army Corps (WAC) unit during World War II.

Tyler Perry captioned the trailer on X.com:

“You have no idea what it means to me to have been given the grace and the blessing to be able to tell THIS story! Every detail is dedicated to the memory of the 855 black women and women of color of the Six Triple Eight. When America needed hope, they delivered! Coming to @Netflix Dec 20th!”

The women of the 6888 Battalion worked on the front lines distributing a three-year backlog of mail (17 million letters) to every soldier during WWII.

The women faced discrimination and racism on the front lines. Three Latina women were among their ranks.

“A lot of people do not want us to succeed,” Kerry Washington says as Captain Charity Adams in the film. “We have the most to prove.”

The women were given 6 months to distribute the mail. They accomplished their mission in less than 90 days.

Tyler Perry fans noted that “The Six Triple Eight” is his first movie in which Black women aren’t portrayed as weak, needy, physically abused, single mothers, or drug-addicts.

“The Six Triple Eight” will open in select theaters on December 6 and stream on Netflix on December 20.

The death toll has risen to 9 in the Boar’s Head deli meat-linked listeria outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Deaths have been reported in South Carolina (2 dead), Illinois, New Jersey, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, New Mexico and New York.

The outbreak has left over 55 people hospitalized, and is the largest foodborne listeria outbreak in the U.S. in more than a decade.

“This is the largest listeriosis outbreak since the 2011 outbreak linked to cantaloupe,” the CDC said Wednesday.

Boar’s Head officials recalled millions of pounds of sliced deli meat products around the country.

Health authorities found bugs, mold and mildew around sinks and in machinery at a Boar’s Head plant in Jarratt, Virginia. That single plant is linked to the nationwide outbreak.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture inspectors found dozens of health code violations at the plant. Bacteria found in the meat processing plant matches the DNA of bacteria found in deli meat.

Americans are urged to check their refrigerators for Boar’s Head deli meat and to Clorox clean any surfaces that might have been contaminated by the meat.

The temperature inside your refrigerator should be maintained at less than 39 degrees Fahrenheit to inhibit the growth of listeria bacteria.

What is Listeria?

Listeria is a bacteria that causes listeriosis, an infection caused by eating contaminated raw, uncooked food. The fatality rate is about 20-30%.

Listeria can be fatal for people with weak immune systems, children, pregnant women and the elderly.

Symptoms and Treatment

Symptoms are mild, including abdominal pain, cramps, nausea and diarrhea lasting only a few days. Muscle pain and fever can be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers; diarrhea and upset stomach can be treated with over-the-counter medications.

Your auntie purchased Boar’s Head turkey breast slices from a local Publix store on Sunday. It was delicious.

I spoke to the deli manager at Publix who said the store sourced their meat from a different plant. She said Publix will continue to sell Boar’s Head meat products.

Boar’s Head processing plants and distribution centers are located in different states, including Florida, Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina.

Earlier this month, TikTok influencers claimed armed Venezuelan gangs took over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.

They claimed the heavily armed gangs forced Black people out of their apartments and are charging rent.

However, Aurora police denied the claims. According to FOX 31, the city condemned the buildings as unsafe. Aurora officials gave the residents 6 days to move out before the utilities were shut off.

Now there are reports that armed gangs of illegal immigrants have taken over another apartment complex in Aurora.

New video shows heavily armed gang members patrolling a building and entering an occupied apartment.

One resident said women are being sex trafficked and gangs also deal drugs in the complex.

Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky told Fox News Digital that “Without a doubt there is sex trafficking now going on.”

“This is organized. They patrol the property with guns visibly, like they’re not trying to hide them. There’s no repercussion,” the resident said.

One former resident, who moved out of the building on Wednesday with the assistance of City Councilwoman Jurinsky, said to Fox News Digital, “I literally had to borrow from everybody I know to get into a new place. And it’s every bit of money I had.”

She also credited Fox News Digital with helping her move out of the troubled complex.

“Through the help of Fox News actually, they connected us with the councilwoman who, Danielle Jurinsky, pulled together all the resources to get us some help and get us out of there.”

Denver Police officials told FOX 31 on Wednesday that they are “not aware” of any gangs taking over buildings in the area.

But the former resident said the police didn’t help her when she complained about the gangs.

“Literally, their answer to me was, ‘You ever think about moving?’ That’s what they told me, and I started crying,” the resident said.

“There’s no help coming for any of us. The police have checked out. They’re not on our side.”

More than 10 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border into the U.S. during President Joe Biden’s term in office.

Vice President Kamala Harris proposed $650 million to complete former President Donald Trump’s wall at the border.

Democrats previously said Trump’s border wall was “racist”.

A Wells Fargo employee was found deceased at her desk in Tempe, Arizona on August 16. Authorities identified the dead woman as 60-year-old Denise Prudhomme. Police suggest her body sat at her desk for four days.

An investigation is underway to determine why no one discovered Prudhomme’s body for days.

Tempe police confirmed to 12News that Prudhomme last scanned her card into the building at 7 a.m. on August 16.

Building security called 911 after discovering Prudhomme unresponsive at her desk on August 20.

Police said Prudhomme was slumped at her desk inside a cubicle. A colleague found her there on the third floor away from the main aisle.

Workers had complained of a foul odor for days as Prudhomme’s body began to decay at her desk. But they dismissed the odor as faulty plumbing.

“It’s really heartbreaking and I’m thinking, ‘What if I were just sitting there?'” A co-worker said. “No one would check on me?”

Authorities said some of Wells Fargo’s employees worked remotely from home. But security should have found the body sooner.

No foul play is suspected in Prudhomme’s death. She is believed to have died from natural causes.

The employee said the lack of information from Wells Fargo is particularly troubling.

“That’s the scary part. That’s the uneasy part,” the employee said. “It’s negligence in some part.”

“I’m just wondering why they didn’t formally address employees about it?,” the worker said.

A Wells Fargo spokesperson issued a statement to 12News:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague at our Tempe office. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones during this difficult time,” the statement read.

The spokesperson said grief counselors are available to employees, and the bank is “fully cooperating” with the Tempe Police Department’s investigation.
