It’s the end of an era. The Oscar Awards are moving from network television to… YouTube.

The Academy Awards’ 50-year contract with ABC Network expires in 2028.

According to reports, the Academy inked a multi-year deal with Google to begin broadcasting the awards show on YouTube in 2029.

YouTube TV offers multichannel streaming and is favored by cord cutters over Hulu and other services.

From Forbes:

The Oscars were first televised in 1953 on NBC. It was the 25th ceremony, a milestone that marked the award show’s transition from radio broadcasts to the small screen. With the Academy partnering with YouTube, the Oscars’ last airing on broadcast television will be its 100th ceremony. The centennial closes out 75 years of film lovers tuning in using a mode of transmission that revolutionized the industry. In four years, they’ll be doing so on a platform considered to be the future of TV.

Here’s what famed filmmaker James Cameron had to say about the move.

X users had mixed reactions about the move.

@Borys_Kit wrote: “As someone who works in film and television, seeing the Oscars move from ABC to YouTube feels like a natural reflection of where audiences are today. It’s less about losing prestige and more about how legacy institutions evolve to stay connected in a changing media landscape.”

User @Tobiflamme writes: “This is wild. The Oscars on YouTube opens a whole new can of questions live comments, ads every five minutes, and six-hour streams? I’m not sure the world is ready.”

@AmonWarmann wrote: “Oscars going to Youtube is a fair punishment.”

Jenifer Lewis explains how being delusional helped her pursue acting: “I became a leader”

Jenifer Lewis opened up about her bipolar disorder and how the delusions helped her pursue a career in acting.

The 68-year-old comedic actress was first diagnosed bipolar in 1990. She documented her delusional disorder in her 2017 book, titled “The Mother of Black Hollywood.”

Jenifer explained her bipolar disorder in an appearance on former first lady Michelle Obama’s and Craig Robinson’s podcast, “IMO.”

‘Well, you know I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was in my early thirties,” she told Michelle and Craig. “And I wanted to enjoy the fruits of my labor and I wasn’t. You know, I came out with that, Michelle, I came out with hope… I was born with it. It was a gift, the gift of leadership, the gift of joy. My job my entire life was to make people laugh. But I wasn’t happy.”

She continued: “And I wanted on my face what I left with everybody’s else’s face. I wanted to be happy.”

She said she began therapy at age 32 during the AIDS epidemic when more than 200 of her friends died from the AIDS virus.

“Everybody’s gay on Broadway and those were my friends and I was on Broadway at the time,” Jenifer said.

“And Craig and Michelle, they dropped like flies. That was a pandemic – we were too young to see all that death. We weren’t prepared to experience that.”

Jenifer said she had a nervous breakdown, and a friend who was a social worker told her she needed help.

She said the “highs” of mania can cause harm to others, but she also credits the disorder with helping her to pursue a career in acting by giving her confidence.

“It can ruin your entire life, and your family’s life, and those who love you,” Jenifer told The Root.

“I became a leader,” she said. “Captain of the cheerleading squad, president of my class. When I got to college, I didn’t look at the call board to see if I had been cast. I knew I had been cast.”

Jenifer said she felt “bigger” than the city of New York itself when she was experiencing a manic episode. “The arrogance, the omnipotence, the delusions of grandeur came with the mania,” she said. “You’re unstoppable.”

Judge Extends Restraining Order for Natalia Bryant’s Obsessed Stalker

A California judge extended a restraining order against a man allegedly stalking Kobe Bryant‘s eldest daughter Natalia Bryant.

The restraining order is extended for another 5 years.

Natalia, 22, told the court that Dwayne Kemp, 35, first contacted her in 2020 when she was just 17 and began messaging her on social media “as if they had a romantic relationship.”

The lawsuit also claimed that Kemp, a gun enthusiast, hoped to have a “Kobe-like child together” with Natalia.

“Thankful for him birthing you. Hopefully we can birth him ‘Kobe,'” kemp wrote in one message to Kobe Bryant’s eldest daughter.

In December 2022, Natalia told the court she feared for her life after Kemp visited her sorority at the University of Southern California, where she was a student at the time. He brought edible arrangements and flowers for her.

Kemp admitted that he was romantically interested in Natalia Bryant after she turned 19, but he claimed the stalking was a “misunderstanding.”

He claimed Natalia would have blocked him on social media if she was not interested in him.

“It’s totally a misunderstanding. I give flowers to females all the time, and it works. If I would’ve been blocked, I would’ve known right then and there that she wasn’t interested,” he told the court.

In 2022, the court concluded that Kemp was stalking Natalia and ordered him to stay 200 yards away from her for three years. He was also ordered to surrender his guns to law enforcement.

In 2025, Natalia told the court that Kemp violated his restraining order by attempting to visit her on August 24, 2025. According to her recent court filing, Kemp violated the restraining order when he attended an event “organized by Ms. Bryant and her employer to make contact with Ms. Bryant.”

“Kemp brought flowers that he intended to give directly to Ms. Bryant, but when he could not locate her, he instead attempted to deliver the flowers to Ms. Bryant’s mother, Vanessa Bryant, with the intention that those flowers be delivered to Ms. Bryant,” the court filing continued.

Security stopped Kemp at the event, and he allegedly “admitted his conduct would violate the [restraining order], but Kemp stated that his conduct was now permissible because he believed (mistakenly) that the order had expired.”

The court filing added that the incident “demonstrates his continued fixation and complete disregard” for the restraining order.

TMZ reports the restraining order was extended for 5 years and expanded to cover Natalia’s mother, Vanessa, and her siblings, Bianka and Capri.

New York Bill Cracks Down On Using Celebrity Likeness in AI Videos

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed a bill making it illegal to use celebrity likeness in AI videos without identifying it as such.

Social media is flooded with AI videos making it nearly impossible to tell reality from artificially-generated images.

The governor’s newly signed legislation cracks down on the use of celebrity images in AI commercials and advertising without identifying it as such.

An additional bill will require consent from heirs or executors to use a celebrity’s name, image, or likeness after they’ve passed away.

According to the governor’s office, there has been an increase in advertisements and commercial use of celebrity likeness in AI videos without alerting the viewer that the imagery is AI.

The law extends to TikTok and social media content creators who use AI videos on their platforms for profit.

“In New York State, we are setting a clear standard that keeps pace with technology, while protecting artists and consumers long after the credits roll,” Gov. Hochul said in a statement.

“New York has always been a home for artists,” SAG-AFTRA New York Local President Ezra Knight said. “It stands as a model for how to safeguard not only our members, but the broader public.”

“It doesn’t solve any ‘problem’ — it creates the problem of using stolen performances to put actors out of work, jeopardizing performer livelihoods and devaluing human artistry,” a representative of the union previously said in a statement.

Trump Signs Executive Order Making Christmas Eve and Dec. 26 Federal Holidays

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday making Christmas Eve and December 26 official federal holidays.

“All executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall be closed and their employees excused from duty on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, and Friday, December 26, 2025, the day before and the day following Christmas Day, respectively,” the order stated.

Trump’s order gives federal workers a 5-day holiday break for the first time in history.

It is common for the federal government to remain open on Christmas Eve or on the day after Christmas. But giving federal employees both days off is unprecedented.

Last year, former President Joe Biden gave federal employees Christmas Eve off.

Christmas Day, December 25, is already a federal holiday.

Trump’s executive order means all non-essential U.S. federal government offices and agencies are closed for 3 days straight.

Additionally, banks, post offices, and government buildings will be closed for 3 days to observe the Christmas holiday.

Trump said the 5-day Christmas break gives additional time off for federal workers to spend with their families.

Trump’s directive gives federal employees 13 annual holidays off with pay.

Essential employees such as law enforcement and national security are expected to continue working on those days.

The executive order gives agency heads the authority to choose who works and who takes all 3 days off with pay.

Question: If you are a federal employee, are you happy that Trump gave you Christmas Eve and December 26 off with pay?

Adrien Broner is going viral after getting caught with his pants down. Adrien shared the video on his Instagram stories on Thursday. It quickly went viral on TikTok and X (Twitter).

“The fall off of Adrien Broner needs to be studied man,” wrote one X user.

Another person wrote: “How this ni–a fat and skinny at the same time?”

A third person commented that Adrien looked like a “glazed turkey.”

Sandrarose.com is a family blog, so I can’t post the video here. But it isn’t hard to find if you know where to look.

Adrien, 36, is a retired professional boxer who has won world championships in 4 weight classes. His boxing record is 35 wins (24 by KO) and 5 losses.

His last fight was against Blair Cobbs on June 7, 2024. He lost by unanimous decision.

Adrien’s career faded after that fight.

Then, in September, Adrien was kicked off the “It Is What It Is” podcast set by the host Cam’Ron for flirting with Cam’Ron’s co-host Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson.

“You look so good in person. What you weigh Stat? I love you,” Adrien told her.

“Thank you,” she said nervously. “I appreciate that.”

Cam’Ron reminded Adrien that Treasure’s boyfriend was in the waiting room. “I told you that before,” he said.

“Oh, my bad,” said Adrien. But he continued flirting with Stat.

“I’m mesmerized by Stat… you look like Coco Jones. I did not know you look that good in person,” Adrien told Stat.

Cam’Ron finally had enough and asked Adrien to leave. He paid Adrien “$10,000 in cash for his appearance.

“I appreciate your time,” Cam;Ron said. He later referred to Adrien as an alcoholic and a junkie.

Ice Spice is facing backlash for wearing a sheer white lingerie to a children’s Spongebob premiere.

Parents were shocked when the Bronx rapper walked in wearing lingerie to speak to their kids at the premiere.

Ice Spice, born Isis Naija Gaston, voices a character in “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants,” which opens in theaters on December 19.

“You guys look so cute,” she told the children at a special screening at the Paramount Pictures Screening Room in New York City on Wednesday, December 17.

“Thank you all for coming. This is my first voiceover… Y’all enjoy it. I’ve never seen the film, so this will be my first time, too,” she said.

Ice Spice she seemed distracted and nervous while speaking to the kids. She paused to compliment one little girl’s looks. “Hey girl, you’re so cute,” she said.

“Hey y’all in the back,” she said while waving. “Sorry I’m so shy and weird. Um, yeah it’s my first time. I hope y’all enjoy it. I was really nervous but this is so exciting and I’m just so grateful to be a part of this and I’m grateful that you guys came out to watch it. So, yes, I’ll see you after.”

The audience clapped politely as she left the stage. But the parents saved their anger for the comments on social media.

One father wrote: “Panties showing with SpongeBob & Patrick is crazy work.”

Another dad wrote: “Unpopular opinion she shouldn’t have been in the movie.”

A mom wrote: “Her and her stylist really thought her outfit was appropriate.”

Miami police arrested a woman after she repeatedly punched an employee at a Planet Fitness in the Little Havana neighborhood.

The incident happened on Friday, December 12, at the Planet Fitness on SW 8th Avenue.

Cell phone video shows Kiara Bryant jumping a counter and punching a male employee in the face. The Planet Fitness employee cowered and shielded his face with his arms.

He did not fight back, but he suffered a broken nose and was transported to the hospital.

A witness said Bryant punched the employee because he asked her to lower her voice after she made a scene in the locker room.

Police confronted Bryant in the parking lot as she tried to leave. Bryant, 35, was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct.

The arrest report said Bryant “was being constantly aggressive towards him while balling her fists.”

Bryant was released on $150 bond and banned from the gym.

“She took things too far, brutally battered our client, and ultimately, left him in the hospital with a broken nose and severe emotional distress,” said Alecsander Kohn, the victim’s attorney.

“This would be a case of felony battery. Hopefully, through some strong advocacy, there will be a modification of the charges to reflect the severity of the injuries he sustained,” Kohn said.

Planet Fitness said in a statement to CBS News Miami. “The safety of our employees and members is our top priority, and we have zero tolerance for violence of any kind in our clubs. We are committed to providing a safe environment. The franchise group worked closely with local police and have cancelled the member in question.”
