Machine Gun Kelly and Ultimate Fighting Champion superstar Conor McGregor nearly came to blows on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.

The two stars clashed outside the Barclays Center in New York before the ceremony got underway after the professional fighter appeared to lunge at the rap-rocker.

Conor, who attended the VMAs with his voluptuous wife Dee Devlin, had to be pulled away by security guards. The fighter fractured his left tibia against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July. His handlers feared he might re-injure himself.

Kelly, 31, walked the red carpet with his actress girlfriend Megan Fox, 35, who bared all in a completely see-through dress.

Sources claim Conor flew into a rage when Kelly refused to pose for a photo op with him.

A New York Post insider claims McGregor threw his drink at Kelly, which prompted Kelly to step to Conor.

"They scuffled then it settled down and Conor went for him again," one source told the publication. "Everyone was screaming. McGregor was ready to throw fists. Security was having trouble holding him back."

Conor's representative was quick to downplay the drama, telling Page Six, "Conor only fights fighters."

Conor, 33, later told Entertainment Tonight "absolutely nothing" happened between him and Kelly.

"He showed up, and I don't know. I don't know the guy," he said. "Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean. I certainly don't fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don't even know the guy. I don't know anything about him, except that he's with Megan Fox."

Chuck Creekmur Pens Open Letter to Nicki Minaj

Rap idol Nicki Minaj once vowed she would change her crazy, pre-Superbass-era ways. She changed her style, even tossing her wigs and weave extensions aside to embrace her own natural flowing locks.

In an interview, she said:

"I went so far to the other side that there's only one place to go from there. You can either continue doing costumes or you can just say, 'Hey guess what? This will shock them even more. Doing nothing will shock them even more.'"

Nicki's brief social experiment ended with a loud bang when she released the cover for her new single "Anaconda".

Bobby Brown

R&B singer Bobby Brown turned himself in today to begin serving a 9-day sentence for a drunk driving conviction, the LA Times reports.

Due to jail overcrowding in California, jail officials shaved a big chunk off of his original jail sentence.

I'm not sure how 9 days in jail will deter him from driving drunk when he's been arrested umpteen times for previous drunk driving offenses. But that's how they do things in California, where celebrities are handled with kid gloves.

Joan Rivers Adele

Joan Rivers is a great comedian but sometimes her jokes miss the mark.

The 79-year-old mother-of-one is catching heat for making nasty fat jokes about respected British singer Adele during a guest appearance on Tuesday night's Late Show with David Letterman.

Referring to Adele's song "Rolling in the Deep", Rivers said the new mom should change the lyrics to her hit song to "rolling in the deep fried chicken."

UPDATE: Rivers apologizes in a statement to Entertainment Tonight -- but only for the offensive remark she made about the Holocaust.
