Rappers and other celebrities are scrambling to lease homes and rent cars now that "MTV Cribs" is returning more than 20 years after it was canceled.

The original series gave viewers a glimpse into the lifestyle of the rich and famous, including a tour of their homes and fully stocked garages.

Viewers tuned in to see how the other half lived and spent their hard earned millions.

But the show lost some of its luster when it was revealed most of the mansions and cars were leased or rented just for the MTV Cribs cameras.

Word is that MTV did their due diligence to make sure the new season features homes celebrities actually live in.

The upcoming season will feature tours of homes owned or leased by Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross, Big Sean, Christian Siriano, JoJo Siwa, Jordyn Woods, Kathy Griffin, Marsai Martin, Martha Stewart, Rick Ross, Tia Mowry, Tinashe, TJ Lavin and others.

"'Cribs' didn't simply introduce the celeb-reality genre; it created a blueprint for how we engage on social media," said MTV's president of content and chief creative officer, Nina L. Diaz. "We are thrilled to usher in a new era of this iconic franchise for audiences around the world."

MTV Cribs is set to premiere on Aug. 11 on MTV. Check your local listings.

The mansion was being sold fully-furnished, but that furniture is out of date now. He also threw in the customized gate with the Chicago Bulls star's former number, 23.

The "Hot In Herre" rapper listed the spacious six-bedroom, seven-bathroom Wildwood home for just $600,000 on February 11, and by February 18, he had already secured an offer.

It's unclear who the buyer is, but the property has been sitting empty for almost two decades. Nelly initially purchased the home back in 2002 for $2 million in hopes of renovating it and flipping it. But he abandoned the project years ago.

The house, which features a private basketball court, an in-ground infinity pool and a three-car garage, is now an eyesore, with no plumbing and no flooring. But it does boast spectacular unobstructed views of the countryside.

Larsa Pippen is eager to unload her Fort Lauderdale mansion for $12 million. She's so eager that she's throwing in her collection of luxury automobiles valued at $1.5 million.

The 46-year-old former "Real Housewives of Miami" cast member originally purchased the double lot with her ex-husband, NBA star Scottie Pippen, for $1.3 million in 2000 and completed the home in 2004. They divorced in 2016 after 19 years of marriage and 4 children together.

Larsa got the house in the divorce settlement. She listed the home on the market for $11.8 million in 2014.

When the home failed to attract interest, she threw in her collection of cars -- all 2020 models -- including a Porsche 911 GTU RS, a Mercedes G63 AMG SUV and a Ferrari 488 Pista, according to Page Six.

Nowadays, Larsa luxuriates in her jacuzzi with 24-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves star Malik Beasley.

Larsa has been criticized online by Malik's ex, Montana Yao (pictured below), who claims Malik hasn't seen their son, Makai, because Larsa isn't part of the Timberwolves' "COVID bubble," according to reports.

Larsa insists she didn't start dating Malik until after he and Yao had separated. But Montana claims that's a lie.

On Feb. 9, Larsa defended Malik after he was sentenced to 120 days in jail for threatening violence for pointing a loaded firearm at a family that pulled into his rental driveway by accident.

According to TMZ, the Family Feud host purchased Perry's former Buckhead mansion for $15 million. The custom 35,000 sq. ft. home boasts 7 bedrooms and 11.5 baths on 17 manicured acres.

There is also a tennis court atop a multi-level parking garage with enough parking space for 20 cars.

If you recall, I told you Perry lost a boatload of money when he sold the same home for $17.5 million - a steep drop from his "firm" asking price of $25 million.

The buyer, according to RhymeswithSnitch, was mega-preacher David Turner.

The house, on the 4100 block of Paces Ferry Rd, is located near the prestigious and absurdly expensive Lovett School, which is closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

Dwyane Wade, 35, and Gabrielle Union, 47, recently listed their Mediterranean style villa in Sherman Oaks, California for $6.2 million. The Wades purchased the 8,700-square-foot crib in 2018 for $6 million.

The house features eight bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms, incredible mountain views, a grand spiral staircase, a home movie theater, and an Olympic size swimming pool.

The Wades moved out of the house 2 months ago after dropping a cool $18 million on a 22,000 square-foot, 7-bedroom manse in star-studded Hidden Hills, California. The house originally listed off market for $23 million.

Their neighbors in the exclusive guard-gated community include Drake, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, the Kardashians, Miley Cyrus, John Stamos, Matt LeBlanc, and more.

The Wades also own a Miami Beach mansion that they've been trying to unload for a year. The former NBA star listed the house for $23 million.

Former U.S. President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are catching heat on social media after they purchased a $12 million mansion in exclusive Martha's Vineyard.

The home is the latest multi-million dollar property in the Obamas' real estate portfolio. They also own mansions in Hawaii, California and Washington, D.C.

The opulent 6,892-square-foot home features seven bedrooms, eight-and-a-half bathrooms, a detached barn and a pool. The home faces the Edgartown Great Pond.

Some on Black Twitter are not comfortable with the Obamas' excessive displays of wealth.

One Twitter user wrote: "Obama sitting pretty in Marthas vineyard whilst Americans lost their homes due to his astounding incompetence. Bailed out wall street instead of the American people. d bag."

Another tweeted:

"Nothing sets a better example for the 'urgency' of 'climate change' than buying a $12,000,000 mansion on an island 'marthas vineyard' In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean all the while crying about the dangers of the rise of sea level. Obama did!"

But others defended the former First Couple.

"The Obamas are among the most successful black people in recent history & fools are out there upset that they're living about as well as your average white Tech executive."
