Will Smith is in a forgiving mood. The A-list actor forgave actress Janet Hubert, who played the original Aunt Viv on NBC's "Fresh Prince of Bel Air."
Smith and Hubert famously clashed on the set of the series. She was fired for refusing to get along with Smith, and replaced by actress Daphne Maxwell-Reid.
Smith buried the hatchet and forgave Hubert, weeks after forgiving his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, for cheating on him with singer August Alsina.
The entire cast of 'Fresh Prince' returned for the 30th anniversary reunion show except for the late James Avery, who played Uncle Phil.
The original cast includes Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton), Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, and Tatyana Ali.
Smith posted photos from the reunion show on his Instagram account. He captioned one image:
"Today is exactly 30 YEARS since The @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted! So we're doin' something for y'all… a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin' soon to @HBOmax! RIP James. #FreshPrince30th".
A Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot drama is in the works. The original NBC television series (1990-1996) was a situational comedy starring Will Smith as a street smart kid from Philly who is shipped to stay with his uncle's family in Beverly Hills.
The new drama series, Bel-Air, is based on Morgan Cooper's viral YouTube trailer. The trailer, with updates from the original series producers Will Smith, Benny Medina and Quincy Jones, is currently being shopped to livestream networks, including HBO Max and Netflix.
Bel-Air is described as a dramatic spin on the original comedy TV series that launched Will Smith's career as an actor.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the new Bel-Air series has been in the works for more than a year after the 4-minute clip went viral in March 2019.
Cooper, a self-described Fresh Prince super-fan, created and directed the trailer that reimagines the series as a drama.
He will co-write the script, direct and be credited as a co-executive producer, according to THR.
The original series also starred James Avery, Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana M. Ali, Joseph Marcell and Janet Hubert-Whitten/Daphne Maxwell Reid.
Smith has remained close with the cast, except for Hubert-Whitten.

Popular late night comedian Jimmy Fallon is the new host of The Tonight Show. Fallon took over the reigns of The Tonight Show following NBC's announcement last Spring that Leno would leave The Tonight Show. Fallon has a healthy respect for Hip Hop, as evidenced by his hilarious "Evolution of Hip Hop Dance" skit with Will Smith on Monday.
Smith and Fallon performed many of the familiar dance moves that have (thankfully) come and gone, such as my personal favorite "The Carlton Dance," named after Carlton, from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
