Most people who are traveling for Thanksgiving have probably already arrived at their destinations by now. For those who haven't hit the road yet, here are some tips on what to expect.

NBC's Kerry Sanders spoke to experts in the travel industry for advice on how to prepare for the days ahead.

Make sure you plan in advance

It might be too late for this one. Thanksgiving is on Thursday. Experts say customers traveling by air can expect much longer wait times at the airport. Get to the airport at least 2 hours in advance. If your Auntie was traveling, I would go to the airport the day before my flight to familiarize myself with the airline check-in procedures.

Remember Covid-19 protocols are in place

Covid-19 protocols are still in place at most airports. Federal law requires that all passengers, including fully vaccinated travelers, wear face masks at all times when using public transit, including buses, trains and airplanes. You can be fined hundreds of dollars or banned if you forget to wear one.

This is another reason to get to the airport, train or bus depot hours early to see what the Covid protocols are.

Prepare for higher gas prices at the pump

If you plan to drive to your destination, prepare for higher gas prices at the pump. The average cost of gasoline this Thanksgiving is around $4 a gallon. You can download the GasBuddy mobile app which helps you save money on gas. The app allows you to find and pay for gas in the app. You can also track your gas usage and download a log for tax purposes.

Keep calm while traveling

Nerves are frayed when travelers hit the road during a holiday. Everyone is eager to get where they're going as quickly as they can. But every traveler has that same thought. Experts advise that passengers keep calm and focus on getting to their final destinations safely and in one piece.

If you're involved in an airline incident, such as punching a flight attendant, you can expect to be arrested and fined up to $37,500. And your family's Thanksgiving will be ruined.

If you're driving and someone cuts you off, take a deep breath. You don't know what that other driver is going through. A loved one may be in the hospital, or the driver may have lost his job. Keep a cool head and be thankful for your blessings this holiday.

Twitter

A reader emailed me insisting that mumble rapper Gunna dressed up as Rihanna for Halloween.

As you know, Rihanna nearly broke the Internet when she dressed up as her crush, Gunna, for Halloween.

Black Twitter had a field day dissecting Rihanna's costume and mocking her boyfriend A$Ap Rocky.

However, a loyal reader emailed your auntie, claiming Gunna dressed up as Rihanna for Halloween -- and she provided receipts.

She sent me a video of a guy she claims is rapper Gunna dressed in a red wig and booty shorts just like Rihanna wore in her music video for "What's My Name."

I don't know, y'all. I suspect someone is pulling my leg. The guy in the video doesn't look like Gunna at all.

Here is a photo of Gunna (he's the one in the middle).

Face the Nation

Dr. Anthony Fauci walked back his statements about Christmas gatherings after massive backlash on social media.

Fauci went viral over the weekend for saying it's "too soon" to consider gathering with your family for Christmas.

The Covid-19 adviser to the White House clarified that his comments were "misinterpreted" and "taken completely out of context."

In an appearance on Face the Nation on Sunday, Fauci told host Margaret Brennan that "It's too soon to tell" if Americans can celebrate Christmas.

Instead of celebrating holidays, he said the country should focus on getting Covid-19 "cases" down.

Following the uproar, Fauci told CNN on Monday, "I will be spending Christmas with my family."

"I encourage people, particularly the vaccinated people who are protected, to have a good, normal Christmas with your family. But ... the way all of the other disinformation goes around, you say something talking about a landmark of a time, and it gets misinterpreted that I'm saying you can’t spend family Christmas time, which is nonsense. You can."

Fauci's latest flip-flopping has generated more memes on social media.

Happy Thanksgiving! I am humble and thankful for all of your support over the years. I am grateful that Sandrarose.com is your first stop for celebrity news, gossip, photos and medical minutes.

As you gather around the dinner table with your family and friends, you can be sure the food on your plate is healthy and nutritious if you follow this guide:

Top 5 healthiest foods on your Thanksgiving plate:

Roast Turkey

Stock photo: Getty Images

The healthiest turkey is organic and pasture raised. Lean roast turkey is high in protein and rich in B vitamins including B3 (niacin), folate (necessary for formation of red and white blood cells), biotin (for healthy hair and nails), and choline. Turkey is also rich in selenium (for normal thyroid function) and omega-3 fats (lowers risk of heart attack and strokes). A 4 ounce serving of white lean turkey meat contains 152 calories. Studies show turkey doesn't increase the risk of cancer like red meat does.

Green beans

Green beans are a healthy addition to salads and an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin C, manganese, fiber, folate and vitamin B2 (riboflavin for energy metabolism). Green beans are low-calorie and high in fiber and antioxidants. One-cup of cooked green beans contains about 45 calories and about 7mg of silicon (for support of connective tissue and bones).

Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of beta-carotene and vitamin A (anti-inflammatory nutrients and support normal eye health). They are also good sources of vitamin C (antioxidant protects cells from damage and fights the common cold). Sweet potatoes also contains fiber that's necessary for good bowel health.

Cranberries

20% of all cranberries are consumed on Thanksgiving day. Cranberries are high in antioxidants that helps protect cells from inflammation damage and oxidative stress (risk factors for heart disease). One cup of cranberries contains 18% of vitamin C, 16% of manganese and 16% of fiber. Cranberry juice improves urinary tract infections (URI) caused by E. coli.

Carrots

Carrots are considered the ultimate health food. They are excellent sources of vitamins, minerals and fiber. Carrots also contain antioxidants, carotenoids and vitamin A, which may prevent age-related macular degeneration (age-related vision loss). A 2015 study found a link between carotenoids and lower risk of prostate cancer.

If your Thanksgiving dinner contains the top 5 healthiest foods, your body will thank you!

Avoid the following top 5 unhealthiest foods on your Thanksgiving plate.

Gravy

Thanksgiving dinner in Black households usually means gravy poured over everything. Gravy may be savory, but it is not doctor-approved. Gravy is loaded with carbohydrates, saturated fats and who knows what else is thrown in there. Say no thanks to gravy.

Anything fried

Fried food is unhealthy because it increases the risk of heart attacks and cancer. Fried food is also associated with obesity. Studies show people who only eat fried food are more likely to die early than those who avoid fried food.

Candied yams

Your guests might as well eat a big bowl of sugar if you're serving candied yams for dessert this Thanksgiving. Candied yams with marshmallows is pure sugar. The yams themselves are sweet without all the extra added sugar.

Stuffing or dressing with sausage

Imagesbybarbara

Stuffing is a side dish that most Americans only consume on Thanksgiving day. Some people say stuffing and dressing are the same dish. Whether you call it "stuffing" or "dressing" - it is not doctor approved. Stuffing is a mystery side dish that contains a variety of unhealthy ingredients including sausage, bacon, eggs, white bread crumbs, custard, sugar, and white flour. Stuffing is loaded with calories, carbs and saturated fats that may raise your blood pressure and increase risk of a heart attack.

Mashed potatoes with bacon and cheese

Mashed potatoes with bacon and cheese are an unhealthy combination. The dish is high in starchy carbs and saturated fats. Mashed potatoes enters your bloodstream faster than sugar and will make you sleepy and more hungry. If you must serve mashed potatoes this Thanksgiving, leave off the bacon and cheese.

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect, give back and enjoy family gatherings. It's also that one time of the year to share recipes with your husband's ex-wives.

Jada Pinkett Smith (left) is preparing for the holidays by exchanging recipe ideas with Will Smith's ex-wife Sheree Zampino (right).

The actress, her daughter Willow and mother Adrienne Banfield Norris were joined by Sheree for a recent episode of the trio's online show Red Table Talk, ahead of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.

"We've invited our favorite cook in the family to share her secret holiday recipes," Jada says in a new clip for the show, which will air on Tuesday, before Sheree appears in the star's kitchen.

"Miss Ree here hooks us up," Jada says. "She gets down in the kitchen!" adds Adrienne.

In the episode, Sheree shares her recipes and tips on how blended families can enjoy the holidays.

Sheree and Will, who share a 28-year-old son named Trey, divorced in late 1995, while the actor and Jada wed in 1997.

Sheree previously appeared on the Facebook Watch show in 2018, during which she and Jada discussed the friendship that has developed between them over the years.

Jennifer Lopez has a lot to be thankful for. She is engaged to be married to former MLB star Alex Rodriguez and she's still in demand as a performer and an actress at age 50.

But some of J-Lo's fans were baffled when Alex, 44, posted photos of Lopez and his two daughters Natasha, 15, and Ella, 11, on Instagram. The images excluded J-Lo's twins by her ex-husband Marc Anthony.

The girls are A-Rod's daughters by his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, whom he divorced in 2008. J-Lo reposted the images on her Instagram.

Lopez's fans were annoyed that the family pictures didn't include J-Lo's 11-year-old twins - Emme and Maximillian - who were right there in the kitchen with them.

Lopez did post shots of her daughter Emma (2nd from right) and her son Max - but the images were inside a gallery and not prominently displayed like the family portraits.

Men don't know any better, but J-Lo's fans felt she should've included her kids in the family shots - especially when the photos are posted on social media for all the world to see.

Question: What do you think of A-Rod and J-Lo's Thanksgiving family portraits? Should she have included all four children in the shots?

A Texas family has been ordered to take down their festive Christmas display after neighbors complained it's too early.

The San Antonio police have a lot more to worry about than Christmas decorations, but the homeowners association for Nick Simonis's neighborhood threatened to call the cops when he refused their demands to take the display down.

The Simonis family received notice from the Diamond Association Management & Consulting on Nov. 4, three days after they put up their holiday decorations.

The homeowners association said the elaborate Christmas decorations — including a life-size inflatable snowman - must come down because it's too early for holiday decorations.

Claudia Simonis, who is eight months pregnant, said they put the decorations up now because, after she gives birth, she will be too busy to help put up the decorations later.

"Because probably in two more weeks, I'm not going to be able to build all this," she told WOAI News.

The display includes reindeer and a Santa Claus holding on to a helicopter. But the HOA complaint only mentioned the snowman. The family told WOIA that they refuse to remove their decorations.

"We're not going to do it," said Claudia's husband, Nick. "It's the Christmas spirit. We're not going to be forced by the HOA to take it down."

FYI: Images in this post don't reflect the Simonis' actual Christmas display.

Celebrity narcissists begin planning their Halloween costumes on November 1 - the day after Halloween. The spirit of the holiday has been lost on celebrities who use the occasion to show off their elaborate, over-the-top, expensive costumes.

JNI/Star Max/GC Images

Narcissists don't care about taking their children trick-or-treating. Celebrity narcissists typically hire others to take their child trick-or-treating or they throw parties for the kids, which kills the spirit of the holiday for the kids.

Gone are the days of celebrity children showing off their Halloween costumes to their neighbors. Now their parents leave the kids at home to show off their extravagant costumes to the world.

Fans are growing wary of celebrity narcissists hijacking Halloween to boost their egos.

Question: Who is the worst Halloween celebrity narcissist?
