Venus and Serena Williams' dad Richard Williams responded to Will Smith slapping presenter Chris Rock during the Oscars live telecast on Sunday night.

Smith won his first ever Oscar Award for his honest portrayal of Williams in "King Richard" on Sunday. However, his achievement is forever tarnished by his violent outburst.

Williams condemned Smith for storming onstage and slapping Rock for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith's hair loss.

Insiders say Rock thought Smith was "in character" as Richard Williams before the actor slapped him. They say the comedian had no idea Smith was going to hit him. Rock even said "Richard" as Smith angrily approached him.

Speaking through his son and caretaker Chavoita LeSane, Richard Williams told NBC News: "We don't know all the details of what happened, but we don't condone anyone hitting anyone else unless it's in self-defense."

LaSane said his father was watching the Oscars and he was "shocked" when Smith slapped Rock. Williams, 80, was known for his volatile temper, but he never publicly struck anyone.

Williams' eldest and estranged daughter, Sabrina, slammed Smith for disgracing her family and called for the Academy to strip him of the award and ban him from attending future Oscars.

Sabrina, 57, told The Sun that Smith went "overboard" and that there was a "time and a place" to settle disputes. She also revealed she suffers from alopecia and can relate to Jada Pinkett Smith, who announced her diagnosis in 2018.

"If they don't take the thing from him, they should ban him from attending the event ever again, as that's just ridiculous. I have no sympathy for [Smith] because that's just irresponsible behavior."

She suggested that Smith should seek counseling, and accused him of being a narcissistic, "entitled actor".

Sabrina questioned how Smith was allowed to go onstage and attack the presenter at a major awards show - in front of millions of people - and not face repercussions.

Richard Williams was previously investigated over allegations in 1999 of domestic violence against Serena and Venus' mother Oracene, before they divorced in 2002.

HBO Max released the trailer for King Richard, starring Will Smith. The biopic is based on the life of Venus and Serena Williams' no nonsense father Richard Williams.

The casting of Will Smith as Richard Williams was criticized because Smith is light skin and Williams is dark skinned in real life.

The Williams sisters dominated women's tennis in the 1990s and 2000s. Serena, 39, is on pace to tie the record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles in the Open era.

The movie also stars Demi Singleton as a young Serena and Saniyya Sidney as a young Venus.

King Richard was produced on a budget of $100 million.

King Richard opens in theaters everywhere on November 19.

One of Venus and Serena Williams' 19 siblings is speaking out about their father, Richard Williams, whom she calls a "serial cheat."

Sabrina, 55, is Richard's firstborn daughter. She is speaking out for the first time about her famous father, who left home to buy her a bicycle when she was 8 years old, and never returned.

Sabrina says Richard abandoned his family and ran off with another woman. The other woman later became his wife and bore him 2 girls - Venus and Serena - who went on to become tennis superstars.

"My mom told me later that he's never coming back," Sabrina said. "We went from having everything to nothing. The best dresses, parties, we'd go places. Now there was no new shoes or clothes. He's not a dad. He was just a sperm donor."

Despite growing up estranged from her famous siblings, Sabrina said she holds no animosity towards them and she hopes one day they can all meet and put the past behind them.

Richard, 77, is pictured at a tennis match with his ex-wife Lakeisha Graham in 2012. She is the mother of his youngest child, Dylan.

Sabrina said she knows of between 15 and 19 siblings that Richard fathered. She believes there may be more siblings in the wild.

"I know there's more siblings, I was told between fifteen and nineteen all over the place, from LA to Louisiana," she told SunOnline.

"My mom always argued with my dad about his affairs, he was a serial cheat. I remember that was always the main thing they'd talk about."

After suffering abuse at the hands of her mother for years, Sabrina left home at age 20 or 21 and slept in her car for six months.

"Somehow I got hold of my dad through a relative and asked for $1,000 to pay some of the college bill at Hope Christian University," she told SunOnline.

"He said he'd only give me the money as a loan. That's when I knew he was an a**hole."

Sabrina, who has two sons, says she met her famous siblings for the first time at Knott's Berry Farm, a theme park in California. The sisters were there with Richard.

"I saw him and thought: 'Hey, that looks like my dad."

"I went over, we exchanged hellos, and we hung out for an hour, that was it. He gave me his number and told me to call him, then guess what? The number he gave me was out of order."

Serena Williams' stepmother Lakeisha Graham has filed an emergency stay of eviction in Florida. The court papers, obtained by Splash News, accuses the tennis superstar of unfairly evicting her and Serena's half brother from her marital home.

Serena's elderly father Richard Williams, 85, who married Lakeisha in 2010, filed for divorce earlier this year. The couple have a minor son together.
